    Kunsthalle Bratislava: Art in Public

    Art in Public is the successful cycle of managed discussions by Nina Šošková. Introducing the activities of guests and organizations from the field of art and public art initiatives to spectators is the intension of the discussions. Presentation of TRAKT (Lukáš Matejka) and Koniarne / The Stable / (Branislav Zurko) took place on the 23rd November 2016 in the KLUB – Kunsthalle Bratislava.

    The Stable is an alternative place to support the creation and presentation of contemporary art and culture. The Stable´s aim is to fill the gap between traditional institutions and create conditions for the presentation of contemporary art. They bring current trends on the cultural periphery and contemporary art make available to the wider public. The basics are gallery activities and activities in the field of visual culture, but space for contemporary art also has the ambition to support a variety of energetic activities based on local communities. The Stable was established in 2013 as part of building of Riding-Schools belonging to the museum and cultural center of South Zemplin in Trebisov, where it acted until 2015. In early 2016, the gallery moved to the former barter station at the bus station. Nowadays this place is operated by  O.Z.KONTEXT  – responsible people are Mgr. Branislav Žurek, Mgr. art Peter Valiska-Timečko Mgr. Vladimir Vajsová art.

    So far gallery organized more than 15 group and 8 solo exhibitions, 2 foreign theaters (Theatre of Novi Sad / Serbia), 8 symposia / workshops (symposium Park Camp) and a number of accompanying activities. In gallery The Stable were presented a number of established artists (Michal Murin, Tomáš Rafa, John Vasilko, Richard Kitta, Joseph Suchoža, Boris Vaitovič, Peter Kalmus, Peter Králik) and many other prospective graduates of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica and the Faculty of Arts in Košice. The exhibition involved several Slovak curators, let us mention for example art theoretician PhDr. Alena Vrbanová, PhD.

    TRAKT is civil association situated in Trenčin which is focused on activities related to art and culture. We replace the tradition of large organizations by the young spirit, innovation and activity of the members. The main aim of the TRAKT includes art oriented projects focused on new media and film.

    They are interested in contemporary art through interactive forms, installations, digital events and environmental vjing projections in public. In spite of combining non-traditional styles, forms and concepts, they support and work with traditional artistic techniques and approaches. The effort of this young team of TRAKT is to revive and diversify an art life in Slovak regions with overlap to foreign cooperation.

    As part of the Week of Science and Technology in Slovakia, on the 9th November 2016 Secondary School in Banská Bystrica prepared presentations and workshops for professionals called “multimedia – new branch of study for secondary schools.” During the presentation professionals, experts, artists and teachers from secondary schools and universities were also given a word. Separate presentation was focused on creative art projects of Multimedia which was prepared for students and the public by Mgr. art. Lukas Matejka, ArtD. (TRAKT). Matejka introduced his art creations and the Festival of light and shadow in Banská Bystrica where he works as a curator.

    A selection from the news release: Graphics, advertising and television studios can find experts already among high school students. The Secondary school Jozef Murgaš in Banská Bystrica prepares 30 students per year for work in multimedia sphere. “Graduate employment and full enforcement of our graduates in all media spheres is our priority,” said Ing. Kamil Kordík, the head of the Secondary school Jozef Murgaš. School leaders along with invited experts from major media will look for new ways of linking teaching with practice. The workshop will focus on audio-visual technique, production of films, tutorials, creating graphic materials. The next will be representing graduation works and the works of students from this field of study. During the study, students learn to use multimedia devices, they are able to assert themselves in the commercial sector in graphics, advertising, music, radio and television studios, in film, in the writting publications, materials for e-learning and virtual education. “Multimedia, it is not just a theory, it is all about use in practice. Our students therefore get the necessary time to implement various projects, we lead them to independent thinking and creative attitude to the job. The school provides them for that needs professional and technical background,” said Ing. Tatiana Vráblová, guarantor of the field of study as well as teacher in Secondary Technical School Jozef Murgaš.

    TEDx Trenčín – Resonance

    On the 1st October 2016, one interesting event was held on the Trenčín castle and TRAKT was officially video recording the special ideas presented there. 13 speakers from fields of science, art, design or psychology and almost 200 enthusiastic participants came and also attented activities, which strongly resonated. An unforgettable experience from this event just strengthened the magic atmosphere of the most beautiful place in Trenčín.  How did TEDx 2016 look?

    Every TEDx event has its characteristics topic. This year, our vision was to make people remember it. The lectures were meant maybe to make a change in people´s thinking, maybe arouse an exciting discussion or make people to act. So that, Resonance is the subheading of annual set. Every little part of the event was referred to this topic – from morning climb on the Trenčín castle to the evening afterparty which was spent by interviews with inspiring people.

     

    Diversity on the stage and also in the audience

    There were a physicist, respected psychologist, documentary photographer, stand up comedian or writer within hours on one stage. Everything is possible on TEDx! And even people who were not really interested in some topics before, were watching the lectures breathlessly.

    Nobody was bored even during breaks

    During breaks there were many activities for participants. They could shorten their time by coloring anti stress color books or relaxing during massage. At the hand of social networks and original tatoo, people could spread the meaningful ideas. Many got their unforgettable day documented by photo near original 360° wall with its view on the castle. The game MEMONIK was also worth a try – it is pexeso for sightless. This year people who got back from the restrooms have been smiling the most. Humour was resonating also there. Well, laughing is good.

    Nobody had en empty belly

    Tasty refreshments were smelling very well during every break. For breakfast you could choose crispy croissants or canapé, then you could get two-course healthly lunch and after that fresh salad or kebab were served for dinner. All day long participants could get illimitable amount of coffee from local coffee house, bio juices and lemonades. As a sweet course chocolate pralines were served. Food was offered outside in catering tent or people could take it outside of the tent and made a picnic right under the castle. Weather was really great for such an event. Also live music couldn´t be missed by such a good lunch.

    Hoooray, afterparty!

    The programme finished, but TEDx Trenčín was not over yet, afterparty was ready. Party was mostly about networking, getting to know new, interesting people and long chats with speakers. Also, another activities where you could win some tempting prices were on. To stay in a good mood for all evening long helped the glass of delicious wine or beer from local pub. The best conclusion of such as inspiring day was exactly dreamy atmosphere and night panorama of Trenčín with great group of people.

    TEDx Trenčín – in Wonderland

    Saturday’s autumn morning October 3, 2015 at the Trencin castle was sunny and alive. He opens there because the second annual conference of the prestigious TEDx Trenčín and braces was there. The main program were 13 lectures speakers from the fields of art, science, psychology, technology and design. Great atmosphere for a while created a community of more than hundreds of people who were in charge of one positive energy.

    To do that, the atmosphere was perfect at the castle engage members TRAKT Happy interactive audio installation that was already his third performances. People do so again to try what it’s like to play on vegetables and fruit. Install again attracted curious onlookers who tried to specify their own rhythm, or create a simple melody. What was important, however, it managed to induce a particularly good mood and a smile on his face.

    Who had the taste after sitting in lectures somewhat limber, he had the opportunity to work out under the guidance of Norwegian GEPARK twins Enrico and Andreas Burik and Matej Kotan. Minimalist exercise log to get the ball rolling under the guarantee TRAKT stiff limbs and heated up not only the body but also the soul. When balancing on a log to exclude the amount of endorphins and could be continued in the program until the evening.

    Members TRAKT addition to these accompanying videodocumentary actively participate in the whole event. Level this event was deployed really high. Inspirational lectures, a number of accompanying activities, gourmet delicacies in beautiful surroundings and the amazing weather TEDx indicated a trend in the future. We believe that TRAKT can become part of the great team that organizes this unique event.

    Pecha Kucha Night vol.3 Zlín

    In the area of ​​Zlín legendary House of Art – Bata monument – symbol of culture and extraordinary Baťa architecture, just prior to the next stage of building modifications took place already the third Pecha Kucha Night Zlín.

    PKN had planned launch on Feb. 25, 2015 (symbolically at 20:20), thus becoming the last action before reconstruction of the building. The event was presented together 10 presenters, various fields, focus, and ways of expression. Zlin regions PKN presented HRA U13 – Pavel Novák and Michal Ščuglík (CZ), puojd – Michaela Bednárová (SK), Andrii Konontsev (Crimea), Tereza Damcová (CZ), Zlin potty (CZ), Radek Petříček (CZ), Jana Janíková (CZ), Roman Šedina (CZ), Dalibor Stříbný (CZ). Among them was also represented TRAKT, which presented the two founders of the association Lukas Matejka (SK) and Štefan Oliš (SK). Each of the participants used their time of presentation 6.40 min. own style. Presentation time has been strictly defined, as the project is PKN international format 20×20, which means 20 slides x 20 seconds. Representatives of the TRAKT sought in this ultra short time together to present activities and projects TRAKT. In condensed speech before some 300 spectators mentioned briefly the most important projects of more than 5 years history.

    Once again demonstrated the importance of networking and cooperation, which in future may form an important network, which helps in the formation of mycelium for Culture and Arts. Poodchýlili thus in a short time back door to Zlín – city of design where every step feel the presence of Bata University and progressive spirit.

    Within the doctoral studies at the Studio of digital media (Doc. Michal Murin, ArtD.) At the Department IDM, Faculty of Fine Arts, the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica Mgr. art Lukas Matejka preparations for the original presentation with the focus to after-school activities for bachelor and master studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts. The aim of the lecture was to direct the potential of young artistic creation in extra-curricular context in practice. The fair practice, project beyond Penthouse award is a very important part of the study, which students realize until later editions. Nearly hour lecture was intended mainly for students of 1st and 2nd grade IDM. Matejka readjusts except for copyright of artistic projects and creative activities of the members of the civic association braces, which are in the field of contemporary visual arts and culture moves since 2009.

    Interactivity in art and design

    Interactivity in art and design is currently taking shape as a trendy thing. At the invitation MgA. Jakub Hrdina and MgA. Ondrej Puchta of Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Czech Republic) participated TRAKT by Mgr. art Lukas Matejka and Pavol Soukal a lecture on the subject. The lecture consisted in the first stage of selection realized interactive projects TRAKT. Followed by a presentation of international art projects and artists who use interactivity. Finally, the authors prepared a practical demonstration of holographic projection – holography and its interactive overlays to the viewer.

    In the period 16 to 17 November 2014, held an informal conference of Inter Intra. Spaces Theatre Studio Theatre DRAK in Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic) served as a great place to “meeting” viacerích professionals, educators, theorists, and theater artists from the Czech Republic. TRAKT represented by Mgr. art. Lukas Matejka as the sole representative of the organization from Slovakia.
     
    Main topics of the conference were interactivity, oscillation pedagogy and art, installations and experiential exhibitions, live art and its direct impact etc. Participants opened a mutual discussion several interesting areas that were often intertwined with positive and negative experiences. The result of the conference, the issues of interactivity. The Conference held its second sequel in Písek (Czech Republic).
     
    The event organizationally prepared Václav Kinský, Tomas Zizka and Dominika Špalková in cooperation with Drak Theatre and the International Institute figural theater.

    Humanity workshop and the authors presentation

    Within the priorities of civic organization TRAKT focused on the work with young people, there took place workshop Humanity focused on the program ZBrush. It happened at High School of Art in Trenčín on the April 7th. As the name suggests, the theme was human and his body – especially the 3D creation of the human skull in software. The student of Academy of Arts Gregor Nadzam introduced to the celectted students of the High School of Arts the basics of the work with program. The organizers from TRAKT Lukáš Matejka a Štefan Oliš solved the concept of the workshop through the form of transmit of the experiences to the younger generation. In cooperation with the High School the young tutor taught students the basics of the work in one of the best graphics programs. Feedback of the participants was very positive and they welcomed the possibility of extending their capabilities with computer 3D graphics.

    Gregor Nadzam (Academy of Arts Banská Bystrica, Cathedra of Intermedia and digital media) presented with cooperation of TRAKT his authorship of the CO cover at the High School of Arts. The event was mainly focused on the young active selected people with ambitions to create and work in the artistic area. Or, if they just want to broaden their knowledge and learn something new. Nadzam presented to them his work, focused on the themes like life and death. The inspiration could the students find in his paintings, photographs or videos, which he presented in special closed place.

    14th conference about of the tourism

    On March 27th, Marek Janičík and Lukáš Matejka (the members of TRAKT) attended 14th Conference of tourism in Prievidza called „Po toku Nitry“. Representatives of civic association TRAKT held at this conference short lecture about the new possibilities in tourism promotion. They focused mainly on new forms of promotional materials, more modern graphics, viral and promo videos. The aim of the lecture was to inform the public and people who deal with tourism to achieve the greatest success with propagation of their hotels, museums and hostels. And they wanted them to know to distinguish quality work of graphics from non-quality. The members of TRAKT decided for this lecture because of the fact, that the associations, organizations or entrepreneurs at tourism often pay big money for poor quality promo material. Sometimes in makes even anti-advertising. Often, the potential which the hotel or museum has, is not used. The lecture of the TRAKT members had therefore great importance and we look forward, that the interest about it was really big.
