    Park camp 9

The international project Park CAMP 9 creates space and suitable conditions for students, recent graduates and teachers of art colleges in Slovakia and abroad to improve and progress in the field of contemporary art – intermedia and interdisciplinary overlaps in the form of educational activities – workshops. The final output of the wokshops are visual works – interventions created for the specific environment of the city park in Trebišov (site-specific art) and the final exhibition focused this year on interactive art forms, in the environment of the park, where the participants work with the strategies of site-specific art, performance, public art, conceptual art and art of new media – technology.

The exhibition featured Lukáš Matejka / TRAKT (tech. collaboration Alžbeta Bobulová), with the work Home X. Home – Time – Humanity – Technology – Space. Using digital video mapping, the author contrasts the dwelling of the past (the ruins of Parič Castle) and the possible home of the future (the universe).

During the theoretical phase of the workshop, the participants improved their technical, technological and software skills while learning about current trends in the art field. During the practical phase, in cooperation with expert lecturers, they used the acquired experience directly in the field of the park. The educational laboratory provided direct experience with the realization of the work and confrontation with the viewer, where the participants gained new creative impulses, experience and knowledge in the field of contemporary visual art. The event included an accompanying activity GEO-Caching, an interactive game based on GPS coordinates designed for parents with children.

    Nocturno 2022

Trenčín on the riverbedFor the second time, the Akropola Kremnica Cultural Centre is preparing the NOCTURNO event, which will take place on 30 July 2022 in the Zechenter Garden in the picturesque town of Kremnica. Surrounded by the hills of Kremnica, this year we will immerse ourselves in a magical world in which light will play the main role on the penultimate night of July.

The name NOCTURNO comes from the word “nocturne” which means night music or instrumental piece played outdoors, for example as a serenade. The night during NOCTURNO should also be a kind of composition, a beautiful music of visual art. 30 July will be in the spirit of light projections and installations, in the former botanical garden built by the writer Gustáv Kazimír Zechenter-Laskomerský near his house.

During the event, artworks by artists such as Palo Truben, Lukáš Matejka (Martina Vargová collaboration), Tomáš Tulis, Tomáš Eniac Cíger, Ivana Laila Drobná and others will shine. The light installations will be complemented by a rich accompanying programme for children, screening of short films, night chilling with the band Chill on the sun, as well as a movement performance performed by the Dance Studio from Banská Bystrica.

Don’t miss the open-air night gallery and come and experience the magic of art in the golden Kremnica.

We look forward to your visit.

  • Priestor 5

    Priestor 5

Priestor is a festival of music, dance, discussions, arts, theater and friendly gatherings of people of all ages, from all places. The places of the city of Trenčín come alive thanks to art and culture. These places have been forgotten for a long time or they have lost their primary function. It is a platform that connects everything good that we have in Trenčín, in Slovakia (and with time, even in the world). It is an event where you can lead a calm conversation or be a part of a great party. The project came alive in 2018. Since 2021, TRAKT participates at the event as well.

Site-specific installation digital art entitled Strom slov (Tree of words) was introduced at the park of Milan Rastislav Štefánik in Trenčín after twilight. The piece of art opens up the subject of ecology, climate and even history and a relationship between a human and the nature. The installation art consists of a sound projection on a specific branch of a tree which transforms into a 3D talking head. This sexless face of an “avatar” tells a fictional story having support in historical events. A once in a lifetime experience with elements of surrealistic and supernatural overlap.

The piece of art is a part of CL!CL! The research is funded by the Slovak Arts Council from public resources in the form of scholarship. The project was financed by the city of Trenčín – Mládež grant.

  • Nocturno

    Nocturno

The 7th of August 2021 is going to be carried out in the spirit of light projections and art installations, mostly under the theme of looking into the past of the former botanical garden that was built by writer Gustáv Kazimír Zechenter-Laskomerský right by his house.

The title “NOCTURNO” comes from the word “nocturno” which is a translation for night music or instrumental music that is played outside, as for example a serenade. The night during the NOCTURNO should also be like a song, a beautiful music of visual arts.

Artists like Arter Eniac from Kremnica, who has created a lot of graphics for the city, artists from the civic association TRAKT with their piece of work entitled Strom slov (Tree of Words) created by Lukáš Matejka and Štefan Oliš in cooperation with Alexandra Rychtarčíková and Viktor Vilkovský and a piece of work entitled Modrá planéta (Blue planet) by Štefan Oliš, artist Ivana Laila Drobná, Ové Pictures art group or a group of young architects will be presented. The programme is going to be accompanied by a lecture dedicated to the history of Zechenter garden, a Andy Switch concert or a movement performance by students of the Department of Dance Creation of the Academy of Performing Arts.

Strom slov (Tree of Words) (2021)

Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT), Štefan Oliš (TRAKT), Viktor Vilkovský and Alexandra Rychtarčíková

Site – specific digital installation entitled Strom slov reflects the history of Zechenter garden in Kremnica and, at the same time, opens up the themes of ecology, climate or history and of a relationship between people and the nature. The installation consists of sound projection on a specific branch of tree which transforms into a 3D talking head. This sexless face of an “avatar” tells a fictional story with the support of historical events which is connected to the specific place and to the specific chosen tree. A once-in-a-lifetime experience with elements of surrealistic supernatural overlap is thus created.

    Modrá planéta (Blue planet) (2021)

    Štefan Oliš (TRAKT)

Short, but that much powerful videoprojection is a conceptual work of art that is broadened by a certain illustrative idea of an artist. The projection is strongly focused on the current issues of climate change and its aspects. It primarily bets on the subject matter of the work of art and its main idea. The goal is to “shake” the spectator and leave them with an emotion worth thinking over.
