Visual 3D scanning has become one of the symbols of modern times. He came to be used not only at design proposals in medicine but also in videos and film. But the opposite is true. It is possible to scan financially and technologically demanding through laser scanners. But in now largely the use of available low-cost technologies, DIY solutions. This creates great opportunities for students in the use and examination of the shooting. At the workshop the participants familiar with the benefits, problems and the overall sense of 3D scanning.

The first part consisted of discussion on the functioning and use of 3D scans and the search for new applications. The second part focused on practical experience. Participants worked with the technique of scanning through Kinect and a digital camera. They were used as VVVV software solutions, Kinect developer toolkit, Autodesk 123D Catch. In the third part – online, the models edited, distorted, reduce the polygons of software: Meshmixer and Blender. Post-production 3D scans required for other applications, such as the increasingly common 3D printing.
