Interregional event with international representation “Humans from the gypsy people” celebrated 15 anniversary at 3rd – 6th August in Banská Bystrica and Zvolen city. Cities were full of gypsy culture, art and music. On festival with unique program and territory were participating 115 artists, musicians and bands from Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary and Romania.
“The “unique” part of this concept is that organizers are trying to bring many innovative elements, such as a living library, theatre of oppressed, light show and much more. Event is offering multigenres and diversity, where everybody can find something attractive. Guarantee of quality event this year is civic association Quo Vadis with partners Culture association gypsy Slovakia, ARA ART, and cities Banská Bystrica and Zvolen. Patronage over this event took president of Slovakia Andrej Kiska, mayor of Zvolen Lenka Balkovičová and mayor of Banská Bystrice Ján Nosko.” told Andrea Bučková from KZRS. “We´re very glad that event “Humans of gypsy people” gained attention among the public. Growing number of visitors is the best evidence of it. Not only people from Banská Bystrica and nearby area are coming to this festival, but also people from all parts of Slovakia.” added a director of the festival.
Digital artist Lukáš Matejka from the TRAKT prepared on 4th August 2016 in collaboration with artist Lukáš Houdek and other organizers special event to honor a memory Leperiben – We won´t forget. It will be a large scaled projection of the gypsy flag and the people without faces. This projection will be on-air during program with elements of performance, reading and music, and will be projected on the memorial of Slovak National Uprising.
