First and foremost we aim to cooperate with both formal and informal platforms of artists that are still in their studies. Not all “squad” members are under 32 years of age due to our effort to not only ensure multinational team cooperation and knowledge sharing, but also generational knowledge exchange. Since the festival itself is designed as multi-genre event, we are able to link together artists from different fields of art.

1. Engagement of young artists in the production of an international festival in all its – artists relevant – phases, followed by production of multi-genre performances, preferably done by nationality mixed teams.

2. Production of light and interactive performances with artistic depth focusing on temporal and spatial specifics and societal issues in the V4 region with strong emphasis on historical heritage and shared values.

Their joint performances often reflect current state of society and societal issues in indirect connotations with space for individual imagination… meaning, each spectator perceives the performed narrative according to their personality, which leaves opening for, partly, self-interpretaion, but most important, individual self-reflection, which in the end boosts the impact of morals told. The emphasis is put on youth in terms of young artists from V4 region in order to help them gain necessary experience in promoting of their own work, emphasising team effort in multinational environment, skills acqusition, knowledge sharing, inclusion and networking during relatively big festival production and prepare them to for art market entry after their studies.

The project, in a playful way, explains the history of probably the first emoticon of the “smiley” in the world that originated in Trenčín. What is a smiley? A simple pictogram that evaluates something, most often positive or negative. Youth recognizes the symbol from the social network environment. Following the positive experience of previous projects – Digital Graffiti, Sobie, Digital City, we have decided to continue creating digital “games” designed specifically for the public space of Trenčín – designed on the facades of historic buildings.

Temporary intervention from the TRAKT workshop (software realization by Pavol Soukal) addresses and involves the participation of random viewers, mostly youth – passers-by, who so often come into contact with contemporary visual arts for the first time. This type of art of the local gallery, especially due to lack of technological background, reflects very little. The public space has been crowded by numerous and active audiences. An author’s digital project is promoted through common available gaming devices – wii, kinect, gamepad, which serve as modulated technology tools for direct interaction with the viewer. We are interested in works and interactions that directly communicate with the viewer and draw it into context.

Unique interactive graphic design of the city of Trenčín from the 17th century.

Working with local historical references, contemporary digital design and personal mysticism built on the story of the “Trencian Smiley” is a clear idea of the project. The resulting form of work has identified a creative creative process, brainstorming and work with historical material found in a new context – the facade of the building. Interactive art opens new possibilities for unreal game engine (blender game engine) for Trenčín’s youth.

The project was carried out on two Saturday evenings on August 26 and December 2, 2017 and was supported by the grant system of the city of Trenčín. We thank you.

Medieval markets in Trnava on the Nicholas Square,on Dec. 17, 2016 were enriched by interactive projection Santa Claus Sledding, made by TRAKT. This interesting project created by Pavol Soukal from our creative LAB had its premiere in Trnava. Only viewers in Trencin and Banska Bystrica were able to see a similar instalation. Interactive digital installation traditionally attracted especially children but also many adults liked it. Digital Project has traditionally put a smile on the faces of dozens, perhaps hundreds of people who visited Medieval markets in Trnava during Christmas.

TRAKT regularly conducts its visual projects in the public space with a focus on the general public. Again, it managed to bring positive mood full of laugh and joy and enrich Christmas by unusual experience.

Project Magic made by LAB prepared Filip Kmeť (TRAKT). An interactive “magic” projection it can be controlled without contact by moving only in the hands or fingers.

The project was launched on Friday 25 November at 17:00 hours (after dark) under the Christmas market in the courtyard of City Hall. Originally, the project to illuminate the front of the town hall but the plan was ultimately abandoned. Magic was not disturbed by light pollution and bustle of Christmas markets. Nevertheless, the Christmas markets are enriched and during one evening audience with a new dimension of enjoyment. Those who wandered into the courtyard, experienced the contemporary interactive art in public space.

Video and photo documentation of the project was made by Patrik Kubizna (DUAL – TRAKT).

Two artist from TRAKT art group – Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal – prepared an interactive project called Dark Matter Spray for DIG gallery in Košice. Dark Matter Spray is inspired by project Digital Graffiti. A software is using hybrid programming environment VVVV, which can connect and control digital actions with a real environment. A spray is using infrared technology and participant can create “digital dark matter” on the projection of the universe. The idea of Dark Matter Spray was initiated by college pedagogue Michal Murin.

TRAKT LAB project “Folklore Graffiti” is taking tradition symbols and themes and apply them into a digital art. Part of the project was a projection of “Folklore Graffiti” on the Trenčín Synagogue, which attracts a lot of attention. Graffiti was conceived into public space primarily for the youths of Trenčín city and then for the general public on 20th and 21st of August.

With light projecting and special 3D spray participants were able to draw on city architecture. A spray is really sophisticated – nozzle is actually an infrared sensor, which converts signal to a computer and then through high efficient data projector on the building. It is needless to say that this project attracts an attention of participants and residents of all age. We are grateful for support from the Jewish community and the Municipal police of Trenčín.

August the project “Hapto – Singing – Playing Plants” was introduced by its author Filip Kmeť from art group TRAKT on exhibition Agrokomplex 2016 Nitra. Plants got “alive” by human touch while playing prepared sounds, which brought smiles to a lot of faces. The project also connecting an audience with pleasure feelings – by touching a living grass by bare feet and by plants by hand. This creates an electrical impulse which allows participants to create a simple melody.

An interactive projection ‘Folk graffiti’ was held at the occasion of the award ceremony of Bratislava Design Week on 11 une 2016. Ornaments were livening up the facade of the building in front of the Church of the Poor Clares. Also visitors and passersby could grab one of the digital spray cans and take a turn. The project merges TRAKT’s digital graffiti with a concept of Ľubomír Slovinský, who is studying at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. It compares traditional folk decorations to the graffiti on factory walls and housing estates. The authors of this unconventional project are Lukáš Matejka (the first concept), Ľubomír Slovinský (the concept and the realization of the project) and Pavol Soukal (the realization of the project and technologies).
