Santa Lucia is a boarding boat that has been stuck in a loop of time. Its two inhabitants, bartender Krištof and dancer Tereza, are waiting in the business for the visitors. One day of winter, young economist Denis climbs on his bike in the farthest part of the city, and with a blown rubber, he suddenly finds himself directly in front of Santa Lucía. It is as if the mood is in front of the boarding house “bicycle repair” and so Denis finds himself in the room with lights, radio and Rob Kazi. Christophe will repair the bike, Tereza dances with him, but will he get Denise from Santa Lucia?

The Santa Lucia Student Film Project was born at Tomas Bata University in Zlín in October 2018. A young student director, Daniel Sláviková, took care of the screenplay of the film as well as the direction. The production of the film was provided by our member Patrik Kubizna (TRAKT).

The shooting of the film took place from 16th to 19th November 2018 in the center of Zlín, namely on a boat, which is located on the Kudlovský brook. 17 people worked on the project and the post-production of the film was successfully completed on December 30, 2018.

The TRAKT civic association enjoys new projects in the field of audiovisual production as well.

The condition that a work must meet for networking is working with text. The text serves as a password for moving to the next part / author. In order for the viewer to move to the next part, he must describe the text from the work to the selected line on the web. The way the author processes this text is not restricted to the media, but must be legible to a visitor to this network. The text may also be the main theme of a work, but it is not a condition of being the sole and principal expression element. The author creates the text himself. The selection criterion is:

the quality of the work
the form of setting into the context of the online space
compliance with the technical requirements for the fulfillment of the project function

We welcome works of every genre and form (visual, audiovisual, audio, literary, painting, performance, choreography, recording, …) responding to the specifics of the Internet environment or current social themes or self-presentation. Welcome works are created directly for the exhibition project, but may also be an older work. The concept of an exhibition project is not otherwise thematically limited.

Nearly 1300 people tried their hand at the digital graffiti from the TRAKT workshop. The digital graffiti represented one of the main interactive installations.

In Saudi Arabia, such an interactive installation is unparalleled and it was a great attraction for the general public of all ages. For TRAKT, it was again new international experience.Digital graffiti had never been projected on such a large area yet. Overall, we used eight FULL-HD projectors to produce the light. This was the first time TRAKT presented their artistic work on the Asian continent and they successfully presented the current digital art / new media art.

The project of the Cultural House started working in 1978 and the construction was originally divided into two stages. They were lacking money, and so it was not completed at least in a curtailed form until 2003. The city is already preparing its reconstruction, which should start in 2020.

Video mapping with Christmas content was created especially on the reconstructed facade of the Piarist Church (Roman Catholic Church of St. Francis Xavier). The church is the dominant of the western part of Peace Square and rightly belongs to the most beautiful sacred baroque monuments in Slovakia. The Trenčín church is characterized by a two-tower facade, just like the Vienna University Church and the Trnava University Church. Our unconventional project used the main front as well as the significant audience potential during the city’s Christmas markets. The project is part of ArtLAB. It supported the Arts Fund and the city of Trenčín from the public sources.

The fourth edition of the two-day multi-genre Festival of Light and Shadow took place on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22, from 7:30pm to 11:00pm, in the central area of Banska Bystrica. The festival, which ranks among the biggest artistic events in Banská Bystrica, presented light stories at more than twenty places in the historic city center. The festival was opened by the Mayor of Banská Bystrica Ján Nosko on Friday, September 21 to a great drum show of the Campana Batucada group at SNP square. The festival offered exceptional projects this year where light and shadow animated restless walls and told stories. There were included light and audio-visual projections, videomappings, interactive lighting installations for children and adults, inspirational and innovative connection of light and fashion design and water wall holography at the river Hron with the theme of the ancient and contemporary world hidden in water. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Hotel Národný dom, moving abstract Art Deco-style lighted figures appeared directly on the facade of the historic building. Videomapping was used to illuminate and brighten journey from darkness to light on the facade of the church of St. Elizabeth. Together with light art, live art was also featured in the city by the dancers of Human Art Space from Bratislava, artists from Sladovne Písek from the Czech Republic, Teatro Komika from Slovakia, L1 Association – Márta Ladjánszki from Hungary and students of the J. Bella secondary art school from Banská Bystrica. All installations of visual works and live art were freely accessible to visitors at many sites, including SNP square, Dolná Street, Národná Street, the bank of the river Hrone, the area of SNP Museum and the square in front of Europa Shopping Centre. This year’s Light Festival was a part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage and young creative artists from five countries – Italy, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia participated.

The accompanying program of the festival was also interesting. It offered a moderated discussion on the topic of Is art a bubble or can it also reach a person with mass taste? On Saturday, the festival was revived by a light cycling event organized by the Civil Cycloinitiative in Banská Bystrica. For the first time, the festival also held an After Party – on Friday, September 21, at Urban Spot, the headliner of which was the band Medial Banana. The festival’s main sponsoring partner is the Fair Foundation O2. The festival also received financial support from the Slovak Arts Council, the International Visegrad Fund, the City of Banská Bystrica and the Banská Bystrica self-governing region. The main media partner of the festival was the public Radio and TV of Slovakia and Radio Regina. Overall, the festival utilized 26 media outlets in electronic and print media presenting information about the preparation and course of the Light and Shadow Festival. The Festival of Light and Shadow, especially two of its light installations, was the winner of the original European Mobility Week (EMW) national competition event in Slovakia in 2018. The City Cycle tour and Cyclotriptych, organized by the citizens during the Festival simultaneously with the Dayless Car Activity were original and the form of their design was noteworthy.

As part of the Gelnica Illuminations, an exhibition, sound and light installation took place at Baník Museum. One part of the festival represented the videomapping “The Story of the Forest” which was projected on the facade of the Industrial Park building on Main Street, and in the interior of the park there was a dance performance by Lucie Deveckova (TRAKT) and Petr Ochvata. Visitors could also join the program through the interactive Gelnica Night Drive game on Main Street which was co-authored by Pavol Soukal (TRAKT).

The castle hill Zámčisko was an open air gallery. The festival culminated in a musical performance in the amphitheatre.
