At the Children’s Festival, however, the children themselves were children. The enrolled pupils attended a grotesque film workshop. Celebratory premiere of the short film made All the photo was appreciated by our precious guest Juraj Nvota. In addition, the festival audience learned – who stands at the birth of the film – the film exhibition. Creators, but also through creative accompanying events or interactive installations in the Army House premises. Teachers and parents who were awaiting a festival seminar on internet threats could also be educated. The Children’s Festival also touches on the popular phenomenon of today – youtubers. During the talkshow of the famous moderator Pisto Vandal, he introduced the popular youtuber TJTN Matúš, but also the native of Trenčín Alžběta Harry Gavendová and from abroad the Czech gamer Jacob Gofelin.

On the third day of June 4, 2016, a large number of guests were introduced to the “Place of the former jam” in front of the House of the Army. The audience experienced Braňa Jóbus, Marinka Somarinka, Bratislava puppet theater, talented soldier Pavel Palca Seriša or For fun crew or Big Band Trenčín. The children also waited for various attractions, games and competitions. Photography as a medium and, in particular, digital photography is now more and more popular in the eyes of professionals and the general public. Capture an interesting picture and give it a static in an attractive composition, if colorfulness is a difficult task in the past. Children have done very well with this creative task and have managed not only a photo but also a short film or animation. Static and moving images are easy to get into mobile phones, giving them a new look and versatility. These mobile forms offer space for the development of creativity, invention and creativity. The competition of photography and short film productions has an increasing trend of interest every year for Slovak pupils and students living abroad. The concept is based on three photographic and one film categories. In 2016, 635 photojournalists were presented before a professional jury (in the different categories: landscape 270, experiment 254 and action 111). In addition to the photo, 33 films from 4 countries (Serbia, Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine) were recorded.

Children’s greatest interest is traditionally in photography. The first category In AKCII presented a variety of approaches, mostly documentary character. She mapped people and situations. In some photographs, besides classical documentation, the children also worked with fine-grained stylized images. This aspect helped many photographers. The selection of the winning photos was 5 pictures, 2 of which were honored. Portrait portrait of youth and youth in black and white tone and fine vintage occupied 3rd place. A nice design in the form of generational contrast with the love of grandmother and child was placed above the cross. The winning photo shows a trio of girls on a cycle trip with a gently bent horizon that dramatically highlights an unidentifiable forced pause.

Category LANDSCAPE is a popular theme for kids that has the most frames. However, the landscape requires a concentrated focus and a perfect moment to shoot the shutter on the camera. Views of the natural and urban units also reached the winning trio. A night city in a perfect composition, or a house on the hill called Spring Mood with Grandma. An excellent moment was captured by a young photographer in the Sun Theater. The crane’s industrial arm in strong sunlight looks natural to the camera’s composer frame.

The last and also new category of the photo in the contest is EXPERIMENT. The task of the children was to experiment with light, shadow and all the settings the technology offers them. Four photos came to the final, in which a book from the book offered a sun-beam viewfinder. The First Fire is built on a distinct contrast to the orange-red fire and darkness in the focal pyramid. A fire that blows the hearth out of the image in the viewer creates a “hot” feeling. The penetration of the light rays of the street lamp over the tree crown became the dominant point of photography in the second place. The triple plan (tree, surface and ground) very nice to feel in the detailed view of the winning photo underlined by the delicate melancholy mood.

The Short Film and Video category brought up to six awards this year. Autumn rose was a time-consuming visual work, as a young photographer mapped the entire plant growth process that lasted for several days. In the end, static images were embedded in authentic animation. The animation was also central in a short, almost as out of the action film cut out, a car hobby part. A special prize was won by the Kovacice School for 6 minutes for a demanding one-stop shop. The third place includes a 2-minute animation on how the letter A was selected for the vandrovka. The current subject was very well captured by a pupil in a 3-minute film showing the risks and difficulties of social networks. The first place was defended last year’s winner from Serbia with a stopmotion drawing animation titled The Future is now. Nice idea and pleasant art decides. The expert committee is enjoying this year’s significant image quality and quality. An increase in animations and short films, as compared with the previous year, shows that children are also keen to work on time-consuming forms – such as movie media or animation. Children are actively demonstrating that they are watching and reflecting current themes and are able to give them a creative form and content from the perspective of the child’s eye.

TRAKT composed by Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal prepared two creative projects from the field of new media for the festival “art park”. As early as June 23, 2016, a videomapping was made on the old power plant. Videomapping is a relatively new direction of audiovisual art that destroys real-world imagery and experiments with viewers’ visual perceptions. With the help of special video projections, it creates optical illusions, changes, regroups and destroys the objects and buildings directly in front of the eyes of the unsuspecting viewer and thus creates a strong, emotional experience in connection with music. The second day, June 24, 2016, the Digital Graffiti project at Kursalón – the Kina Pramen facade, was prepared for spectators and random passers-by. Spectators could try their patriotic skin by spraying light over the building.

TRAKT represented the triumph of young artists Lukáš Matejka, Štefan Oliš and Pavol Soukal in cooperation with Dominik Simkova at the Illumination festival. As part of the TRAKT program, he realized a videomapping on the 13th century façade – the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. At the Castle of the Old Chateau in Banská Štiavnica, TRAKT prepared an interactive projection – the game “Štiavnické rally” aimed at children and adults alike. Large-screen projection could be controlled with the help of a remote steering wheel.

The projection to one of its parts – devoted to the architecture of ESITYS ARKKITEHTUURI – was created by TRAKT, a civic association in Trencin. The preparation for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence was attended by Pavol Soukal (TRAKT), Tomáš Storinsky and Viktor Vilkovsky under the creative performance of Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT). The director and choreographer of the dance-visual show was taken over by Radoslav Piovarči (TRAKT). In a nearly 4-minute audiovisual performance, five dancers and dancers from Slovakia, four from Finland and one French participated. The communication between the various components was mainly provided by Rado and Ondrej Gece from production. On the music side, the project was shot by a young producer Pjoni devoted mainly to electronic music. Martin Kotúček contributed to the project. The prestigious Finnish architect Sami Rintala gave us valuable advice on Finnish architecture in online consultations.

Reindeer Sledding is a new version of Santa Claus Sledding, which was on the Christmas markets in Trenčín one year ago. This project premiered at the Festival of Light and Shadow in Banska Bystrica. Digital game on the facade of the town tower was projecting for three hours. Young viewers had an oportunity to take a driver’s license for reindeer sledding.

The project was launched on Friday 25 November at 17:00 hours (after dark) under the Christmas market in the courtyard of City Hall. Originally, the project to illuminate the front of the town hall but the plan was ultimately abandoned. Magic was not disturbed by light pollution and bustle of Christmas markets. Nevertheless, the Christmas markets are enriched and during one evening audience with a new dimension of enjoyment. Those who wandered into the courtyard, experienced the contemporary interactive art in public space.
