Dagmar Rajcanova worked for the Slovak Environmental Agency in Banská Bystrica from 1993 to 2014 where she headed the Environmental Education and Promotion Center. She served as General Director of the Agency in 2012 – 2013. In addition to environmental education, from 1995 to 2014, she organized and prepared the dramaturgy of the International Environmental Film Festival “Envirofilm“. From 1998 to 2005 she was a co-organizer of the International Diving Film Festival in the High Tatras Mountains. She is co-founder of the Ecomove International Environmental Film Festival Association registered in Germany.
On several occassions she has been a member of the international jury for nature and environment protection film festivals, including the International Documentary Film Festival on Parks, Sondrio, Italy, Water, Sea and Oceans Hluboká, Czech Republic and Ekofilm Český Krumlov, Czech Republic. For several years she has been a member of the Slovak Syndicate of Journalists and the Environmental Committee of the Slovak Olympic Committee. She has worked actively with the Slovak Film Institute, the Union of Slovak Television and the Academy of Art in Banská Bystrica. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Environmental Foundation Ch. B. Parks, Florida, USA, where she prepares and is responsible for the program of Slovak children in summer camp.
Under Dagmar‘s leadership, Envirofilm was awarded for enhancing environmental awareness through film and other media by the Executive Director of the Royal Award Foundation in Copenhagen, Denmark. With Kateřina Javorská, she is the co-author of a publication about the origins, activities and international achievements of the Envirofilm festival entitled “The Chronicles of the Green Festival“. Since 2015 she has worked for the civic association “Cultural Slovak” and leads the team that organizes the annual “Festival of Light and Shadow“
