Strečno is a village in the district of Žilina, located at the crossroad of Váh via Malá Fatra. Strecno castle is a reconstructed ruin of the medieval castle, an irregular ground plan, developing around the central core. The castle is located 11 km from the city of Žilina along the E50 road to a 103 m high bank over the river Váh.
