With its special natural conditions, the Demänovská valley is one of the most beautiful and most visited valleys in the Low Tatras. It is 15 km long and is a major tourist center. Geographically and geologically it consists of two different parts: the upper part, adjacent to the main ridge, is granite and forms a whole complex of smaller valleys, the lower part is cut in limestone and richly divided vertically.
