The garage will appear again in Trencin, this time in the KKC Hviezda area. Within the 4th year, which organizing Trencin 2026 in cooperation with the Pohoda festival, it will bring 3 Saturdays of concerts of the upcoming generation of bands from all over Slovakia. The performing bands were selected by an expert jury from 214 entries.

The Festival of Light and Shadow 2019 in Trnava

In 2019 the Festival of Light and Shadow is expanding from the public space of Banská Bystrica to “Little Rome” to Trnava. In Trnava’s environment, the project will not offer viewers a superficial superficial lighting “show”, but will present contemporary visual and lighting art in the public space of the historical center.

Young art projects will sensitively open the theme of the union in their wide cultural and social spectrum by their ideological legacy. Projects will focus on networking, collaboration (multi-generation, multi-genre, cross-species), networking, networking, connectivity and finding new ways. The festival’s priority is to provide space for young, un-established artists from Slovakia and the European environment. The festival wants to be the engine at the start of their professional artistic career. We want to inspire, educate and entertain the general public. We promise to the public, viewers and visitors truly unusual experiences. When? 20 September 2019 after dark.

Beast Porto: V4 Academy: Workshops on New Technologies

Visegrad Film Hub returns for its second edition within BEAST IFF 2019. This year, the V4 accademy takes a look at the new technologies and new ways of sotrytelling with a programme that is proposing an extensive list of parallel events such as talks, masterclasses and workshops, bringing together a great pool of audivisual entushiasts and field professionals. The idea behind the workshops program is to give access to new learning possibilities at the border of film and technology, using specific tools such as creative coding, argumentative light and interactive technologies as narrative device in diverse forms.

Video mapping is a part of evolution of visual art indicating manifestation of visual art and technology to create an optical illusion using the game with light. As a conclusion, ordinary objects are changed into awesome magical creations. Artists can simply apply their majestics sketches to any 3D materials, for example buildings. In cooperation with the TRAKT from Slovakia, workshop intends to give the participants an overview of the different possibilities to create a live installation wrapping projected virtual content around a real world object.

During the 2 days workshop, the students will get to work with specific software to create a projection mapping project. This workshop is intended for participants who want to learn how to develop projection mapping projects for future events, art installations, and performances.

Digital graffiti in Trnava

Even graffiti on the Trnava Town Hall building, Peter Bročka, the Mayor of Trnava, is already looking forward to it. As a small tasting before the Festival of Light and Shadow 2019 – Trnava we bring you the opportunity to spray the town hall with digital graffiti. You get a spray in your hands, squeeze the nozzle, and there the similarity to the classic spraying techniques ends because:

-> You will spray to places where only Spiderman or unknow on the platform.

-> You will make paintings as big as an elephant.

-> You will not damage the historical facade, because it is a digital projection.

Mysterious Levoca 2019

Levoča summer is traditionally rich in cultural and social events. After the popular Levočská pilgrimage at the beginning of the summer holidays, locals, but not only them, can prepare for the next upcoming event. Every year the town pays tribute to the phenomenal work of the carpenter from Levoča, the altar in the Basilica of Sts. James. The City Cultural Center in Levoča, under the leadership of its director, Zuzana Kamenická, covers the preparations every year and takes over the patronage of this grand event, which is traditionally attended by thousands of visitors. Otherwise it will not be this summer and the celebration will culminate in the form of the festival Mysterious Levoca 2019.

TRAKT will present a project triptych in the form of video mapping at the Town Hall, interactive project “Levočské graffiti” and last but not least a magical laser harp at the event from 16th to 17th August 2019. Spectators are therefore looking forward to.

Happy audio and fables from India

Under the auspices of the Indian Embassy in Slovakia, an evaluation of the Indian Fables Competition was held in Liptovsky Mikulas through the eyes of Slovak children. Through beautiful children’s drawings, viewers introduced the stories of stories from the life of the great Indian thinker M. Gandhi, whose 150th anniversary of birth is commemorated this year. Children put their insights into stories and their inner feelings into portraits in portraits. Up to 48 winners participated in the evaluation.

TRAKT participated in a great atmosphere with the interactive audio installation of Happy Audio. Through technology and a mixture of fruits and vegetables, children composed unconventional sound and music compositions. The main organizer of the Slovak – Indian Friendship Society has prepared an unusual accompanying program for children. We are looking forward to further joint projects and congratulations to the winners.

Svetlo Valmez light festival and Jirka Kral

On September 7, 2018, the second edition of the Light and Film Festival called Valmez Light was held in Valašské Meziříčí. The organizers have also memorized this year in making the program for children and young people. A large part of the upcoming installation is aimed directly at them. What more. Children from Valašské Meziříčí schools and nurseries were directly involved in the creation of the festival’s content. Children paint pictures according to their own fantasy in prepared templates. At the festival, they could watch how their drawings turned into 3D light directly on the facades of the buildings. All original visitors will be able to see the workshop at the Žerotín Castle café, where drawings by children from the Polish town of Radlin and Slovak Čadca were exhibited as part of the Vysehrad Lighting Festival project. Another attraction was undoubtedly the exhibition Meopta – the magic world of optics. In the big hall of KZ, visitors could try for example giant crust, UV light or polarization. This exhibition has been prepared by Meopta, which specializes in optical products, together with the ÚdiF Association (The Amazing Theater of Physics).

The teenagers got into the game of popular YouTuber Jirka Král. Thanks to the interactive projection from the TRAKT (Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal) divided into two parts, they could not only play an author’s computer game against Jirka Kráľ. All this within the ŠKODA CAR ZONE, which was located in the space under the parking lot at the Cimal Business House. The light at the festival was literally tangible! Most installations were prepared so that visitors themselves could change colors or direction of light by touch or movement. Interactive was also used by Rožnovská dance group Heart2B and Meziříčská D – Company.

The project, in a playful way, explains the history of probably the first emoticon of the “smiley” in the world that originated in Trenčín. What is a smiley? A simple pictogram that evaluates something, most often positive or negative. Youth recognizes the symbol from the social network environment. Following the positive experience of previous projects – Digital Graffiti, Sobie, Digital City, we have decided to continue creating digital “games” designed specifically for the public space of Trenčín – designed on the facades of historic buildings.

Temporary intervention from the TRAKT workshop (software realization by Pavol Soukal) addresses and involves the participation of random viewers, mostly youth – passers-by, who so often come into contact with contemporary visual arts for the first time. This type of art of the local gallery, especially due to lack of technological background, reflects very little. The public space has been crowded by numerous and active audiences. An author’s digital project is promoted through common available gaming devices – wii, kinect, gamepad, which serve as modulated technology tools for direct interaction with the viewer. We are interested in works and interactions that directly communicate with the viewer and draw it into context.

Unique interactive graphic design of the city of Trenčín from the 17th century.

Working with local historical references, contemporary digital design and personal mysticism built on the story of the “Trencian Smiley” is a clear idea of the project. The resulting form of work has identified a creative creative process, brainstorming and work with historical material found in a new context – the facade of the building. Interactive art opens new possibilities for unreal game engine (blender game engine) for Trenčín’s youth.

The project was carried out on two Saturday evenings on August 26 and December 2, 2017 and was supported by the grant system of the city of Trenčín. We thank you.

Hidden Paintings – Nuit Blanche

Hidden Paintings is an interactive light installation on the façade of the Nedbalka Gallery in Bratislava. The premiere was on October 7, 2017 during the Nuit Blanche 2017 in Bratislava. It is to expose the exhibited paintings of the 2017 (VUB Foundation) by an interactive light spray. Viewers – The wide public got a unique opportunity to uncover the paintings right on the facade of the NEDBALKA Gallery. Using spray and jet presses (spraying), they were gradually displayed – they uncovered the digitized large-format paintings, which the viewers had the opportunity to see in the gallery gallery. The audience’s hand draws the authentic sound of the spraying spray. Digital painting and its temporality make it a metaphor for the authenticity of a real artifact – painting.
