The civic association TRAKT together with the Férová O2 Foundation and the Trnava Self-Governing Region prepared an audiovisual installation that will travel together with the exhibition to mark the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. Overall, the exhibition will be in seven cities within Trnava region.

How do the authors perceive November 89?

As creative artists and contemporary artists, we perceive the events of November 89 as a fusion of an active society that wanted to make a difference for all of us. This change was only possible because we, as a company, were able to connect, we were a collective hero who could not be broken on our way to freedom. Today, our society is polarized by various themes – groups – communities that often divide us out of mind. We want to show our interactive work how active and connecting people are today.

Symbolism in the work:

• Demolishing a wall that reveals photos. – The symbol of an imaginary wall that surrounded our country and prevented us from seeing the truth, not only here but also abroad. The falling wall symbolizes the fall mode.
• The revelation of the period photography symbolizes the revelation of truth, hope, freedom, human authenticity.
• Each viewer can only tear down part of the wall, but only together they collapse the whole wall. A symbol of social change and the importance of joining for the benefit of all of us. Although I can change a small part myself, I need active people around me to change the whole.
• The keys trigger the wall to fall. The keyhole has become a symbol of the Velvet Revolution, this link will allow us to illustrate the atmosphere of the moments displayed in the photographs.
• “Freedom is not self-evident” – the motto complementing this work shows that the struggle for freedom never ends and never ends. Only by our activity and interest in public affairs will we guard our freedom.

“Our great effort is to get a young audience, to get acquainted with contemporary art and thinking. To attract more interest in events in the Slovak and foreign art scene, “says Young Art Show organizer Martin Ševčovič.

The ceremonial finishing of the exhibition took place on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 19:00 in the Great Hall of the House of Art Piešťany. Fashion designers Petra Kovacs, Tatiana Ďurkovová, Adela Babinská, Valéria Kršiaková, and Ondrej Forus presented fashion collections during the fashion show. The program was enriched with the performance of keyboardist John Rau and rapper Vladis. During the finish, visitors could taste specialties from the students’ workshop at the Hotel Academy of Ľudovít Winter. Projections and video were provided by TRAKT composed by Matúš Krajčo, Alexej Zavodnov and Lukáš Matejka.

The works of art from young artists were exhibited from the 5th October 2016. Evening was introduced by Diana Hágerová. Designers Kristína Bánovská, Monika Pšenicová, Petra Kovácsová, Tatiana Ďurkovová, Tatiana Dvořáková a Viera Futáková were showing their trendy clothing. One of them was inspired by 20th century, another by pink color and every of them created unique collection. Each of designers tried to elevate feminity by the medium of their creations. Organizer of the event Martin Ševčovič flattered fashion models and all women in the audience and also in backstage when he said: „All ladies should be praised because praise belongs to them.“

Pianist Jan Rau, rap singer Vladis and three teenagers – acrobats who are named For Fun Crew – took care about cultural programme. After the program and exhibiton, gala banquet was ready for the audience. 64 young artists from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Great Britain and USA were the part of the international project Young Art Show in 2016. The event provides a space for communication and presentation of young artists. The project is primarily oriented at students and graduates from local and foreign art universities. It offers the audience an insight into the current Slovak and foreign fine arts. Artworks in the House of Art were available to see   till the 30 October 2016.

The project is aimed mainly at students and graduates of domestic and foreign art universities. It offers the audience an insight into the components of the current Slovak and foreign visual events. The first objective YOUNG ART SHOW is to help young authors to present their work. Create awareness of his person and work. The exhibition is a way for young artists to reach their audience, to communicate with him. This is an opportunity to go on the stage and played his performance. The second objective YOUNG ART SHOW is The educational activities. Attract interest audiences in visual arts, formed by the residents and visitors of Piestany. The greatest effort of the exhibition is to get a young audience, acquainted him with the current artistic events and thinking.
