Banská Štiavnica is a historical town in Central Slovakia with a distinctly multicultural past. We know it is the mining of metals (especially silver), important mining legislation, self-government and academic tradition.

Preparations
for the Banská Štiavnica Project Concept 2019: Identity Renovation moved
further and the program started on January 19, 2019 at 17:00. TRAKT with
videodocumentation and an interactive digital project based on the graffiti
principle was there. Graffiti in the hands of a handsome boy Vojtík uncovered a
100-year group photo of the communities in the region of Banská Štiavnica. The
whole program “Almazia” continued in the premises of the Cultural Centre.
4 elements have been organically grown for 20 years with the public space of Banská Štiavnica. The celebration of this connection was also an interactive installation that allowed visitors of 4 elements and random passers-by to combine elements from the graphical identities of each vintage of 4 elements and to create their own temporary light installation directly in the public space in the center of Banská Štiavnica.
Interactive installation – Element digital graffiti – Intermediate artists Pavol Soukal and Lukáš Matejka from the civic association TRAKT have decided to realize on the basis of the need to bring current trends of contemporary art among the general public. Designer sprays, produced by 3D printing, have a small LED indicator instead of the dye. They are watched by an unobtrusive camera system that allows you to interact to produce accurate color image light. It is projected on the facade of the building. The viewer himself becomes an artist – a creative creator who draws, paint, spray on buildings. Graffiti inherently belongs to the color of the urban environment, whether in positive or negative form. In the case of Digital Digital Graffiti, there will be a small celebration of the 20th anniversary of the festival, as well as an invitation to the 4th Festival of Light and Shadow, organized by TRAKT in Banská Bystrica on September 21 and 22, 2018.
The Light Festival “Illumination” changed in June 2016 to the historical center of Banská Štiavnica night. On June 18, the former mining center and botanical garden from the middle of the 19th century on a razed light city transformed into one night after a nightingale. The festival was held with the creative support of students of art schools and artists using modern imaging and projection technologies to create a unique visual experience. The program also enriched the exhibition, or local BLUR photoclub, which prepared Camero obscuru in the premises of the Cultural Center. Visitors had the opportunity to see Štiavnica up-and-down with real legs in real time. On our holy trio, Counter Strike, originating from Cape Town (South Africa), made its audiovisual drum and bass show. The space of the botanical garden has enriched especially light interventions and projections from students. The charity collection of the civic association Svetielko Nádeje was held within the festival for the purpose of financial support for the Children’s Faculty Hospital and the B Clinic in Banská Bystrica. The event took place under the auspices of Banská Štiavnica and its coordinators are Group 4: Tune, Secondary Industrial School of Samuel Mikovini and TRAKT civic association.
TRAKT represented the triumph of young artists Lukáš Matejka, Štefan Oliš and Pavol Soukal in cooperation with Dominik Simkova at the Illumination festival. As part of the TRAKT program, he realized a videomapping on the 13th century façade – the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. At the Castle of the Old Chateau in Banská Štiavnica, TRAKT prepared an interactive projection – the game “Štiavnické rally” aimed at children and adults alike. Large-screen projection could be controlled with the help of a remote steering wheel.
Photo contest and short filmmaking school students with instruction in Slovak abroad. Winners of this contest were invited to Banska Bystrica where children participate on workshops in the Central Gallery (obsura camera workshop and workshop pixelation ) and they went on a trip to Zvolen and Banska Štiavnica. The professional jury was composed from the members of Trakt as follows: Lukas Matejka a chairman of the jury, Matej Mazak, Stephen Olis and Katarina Vidova . All registered photographs and short films can be found here.
At the outset, we would like to note that the photographic and film work of all participating students were good. Interesting aspect that was popped up was the theme of nature and man highlighted almost on every photo. It is a special moment to see the results of children with nature. The global significance, one could say that the nature of competition was nature or the relationship between man and nature. The jury was surprised by the ability of young people to seek and find the details of the structure and interesting compositions. Take your camera or camcorder and look at the world through the eyes of a man for whom everything is new and undiscovered. Of all these images it is possible to form an idea of the environment in which children live, on relations with it, but also relationships among themselves. Perception of children was very fascinating for the jury so even the children who travelled long distance from abroad looked like they are domestic, because their perception and ideas were very similar to resident ones.
We are delighted that this competition has become a creative and cultural engine in the development of their relationship and we believe that all the authors of this competition take with them valuable experience, which will be used in their next artistic creation.
