The condition that a work must meet for networking is working with text. The text serves as a password for moving to the next part / author. In order for the viewer to move to the next part, he must describe the text from the work to the selected line on the web. The way the author processes this text is not restricted to the media, but must be legible to a visitor to this network. The text may also be the main theme of a work, but it is not a condition of being the sole and principal expression element. The author creates the text himself. The selection criterion is:

the quality of the work
the form of setting into the context of the online space
compliance with the technical requirements for the fulfillment of the project function

We welcome works of every genre and form (visual, audiovisual, audio, literary, painting, performance, choreography, recording, …) responding to the specifics of the Internet environment or current social themes or self-presentation. Welcome works are created directly for the exhibition project, but may also be an older work. The concept of an exhibition project is not otherwise thematically limited.

Nearly 1300 people tried their hand at the digital graffiti from the TRAKT workshop. The digital graffiti represented one of the main interactive installations.

In Saudi Arabia, such an interactive installation is unparalleled and it was a great attraction for the general public of all ages. For TRAKT, it was again new international experience.Digital graffiti had never been projected on such a large area yet. Overall, we used eight FULL-HD projectors to produce the light. This was the first time TRAKT presented their artistic work on the Asian continent and they successfully presented the current digital art / new media art.

The fourth edition of the two-day multi-genre Festival of Light and Shadow took place on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22, from 7:30pm to 11:00pm, in the central area of Banska Bystrica. The festival, which ranks among the biggest artistic events in Banská Bystrica, presented light stories at more than twenty places in the historic city center. The festival was opened by the Mayor of Banská Bystrica Ján Nosko on Friday, September 21 to a great drum show of the Campana Batucada group at SNP square. The festival offered exceptional projects this year where light and shadow animated restless walls and told stories. There were included light and audio-visual projections, videomappings, interactive lighting installations for children and adults, inspirational and innovative connection of light and fashion design and water wall holography at the river Hron with the theme of the ancient and contemporary world hidden in water. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Hotel Národný dom, moving abstract Art Deco-style lighted figures appeared directly on the facade of the historic building. Videomapping was used to illuminate and brighten journey from darkness to light on the facade of the church of St. Elizabeth. Together with light art, live art was also featured in the city by the dancers of Human Art Space from Bratislava, artists from Sladovne Písek from the Czech Republic, Teatro Komika from Slovakia, L1 Association – Márta Ladjánszki from Hungary and students of the J. Bella secondary art school from Banská Bystrica. All installations of visual works and live art were freely accessible to visitors at many sites, including SNP square, Dolná Street, Národná Street, the bank of the river Hrone, the area of SNP Museum and the square in front of Europa Shopping Centre. This year’s Light Festival was a part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage and young creative artists from five countries – Italy, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia participated.

The accompanying program of the festival was also interesting. It offered a moderated discussion on the topic of Is art a bubble or can it also reach a person with mass taste? On Saturday, the festival was revived by a light cycling event organized by the Civil Cycloinitiative in Banská Bystrica. For the first time, the festival also held an After Party – on Friday, September 21, at Urban Spot, the headliner of which was the band Medial Banana. The festival’s main sponsoring partner is the Fair Foundation O2. The festival also received financial support from the Slovak Arts Council, the International Visegrad Fund, the City of Banská Bystrica and the Banská Bystrica self-governing region. The main media partner of the festival was the public Radio and TV of Slovakia and Radio Regina. Overall, the festival utilized 26 media outlets in electronic and print media presenting information about the preparation and course of the Light and Shadow Festival. The Festival of Light and Shadow, especially two of its light installations, was the winner of the original European Mobility Week (EMW) national competition event in Slovakia in 2018. The City Cycle tour and Cyclotriptych, organized by the citizens during the Festival simultaneously with the Dayless Car Activity were original and the form of their design was noteworthy.

2. Production of light and interactive performances with artistic depth focusing on temporal and spatial specifics and societal issues in the V4 region with strong emphasis on historical heritage and shared values.

Their joint performances often reflect current state of society and societal issues in indirect connotations with space for individual imagination… meaning, each spectator perceives the performed narrative according to their personality, which leaves opening for, partly, self-interpretaion, but most important, individual self-reflection, which in the end boosts the impact of morals told. The emphasis is put on youth in terms of young artists from V4 region in order to help them gain necessary experience in promoting of their own work, emphasising team effort in multinational environment, skills acqusition, knowledge sharing, inclusion and networking during relatively big festival production and prepare them to for art market entry after their studies.

The piece is inspired by how almost every element on Earth was formed at the heart of a stardust, including our bodies. Drawing inspiration from these eternal particles which were part of our bodies for an incredibly short moment, as well as the motif of the unthinkable world expressed by the philosophy book In the Dust Of This Planet by Eugene Thacker, DUST seeks to reimagine our perception of body, space and time with the use of digital technologies. It merges real and virtual worlds to produce new environments where physical and digital co-exist and interact in real time. More specifically, it combines the live stream with volumetric capturing of dance and virtual environment and in doing so, immerses the viewers visually, as well as physically and emotionally. DUST seeks to explore innovative forms of engaging the audience and ways of building new narratives through the creative partnership of performing arts and new media.

Mária Júdová and Andrej Boleslavský, artist duo, have been exploring the creative potential of technology for over a decade. Their work combines the exploration of technologically informed dance practices with participatory performances, body movement, time and space. Mária and Andrej are interested in combining choreographic thinking and the practice of digital art creation to deliver richer and more meaningful experiences. They often find themselves working in close collaboration with performers, dancers and choreographers with the aim of trying to understand the principles behind the creation of the movement.

Camouflage is an immersive art project, an experimental mixed reality game for multiple players which playfully explores disparity of perception within the real and the digital space. The project is inspired by an old game known to many ancient cultures where a blindfolded player is trying to find its opponents. When successful, the roles switch.

In Camouflage, two audience members are blindfolded by the VR headsets through which they can only see an abstract representation of their surroundings, and simulated bodies in motion. The goal of the players inside the virtual reality experience is to identify which of the abstracts objects actually belong to a real person.

Outside the VR experience, there are four other people who have sensors attached to their bodies and move in the given space, trying to stay out of sight as long as possible: camouflage. The goal of the players outside of the virtual world is to stay unnoticed for as long as possible. To do this, they need to mimic the movement quality of the animation and blend with the environment. To make the experience even more engaging, we will create complex, automated rules, scoring system, as well as a system of handicaps that will change over the course of the game.

It is particularly interesting to observe the players and the emergence of tactics and strategies. The success of the player is influenced by his or her knowledge of the opponent, ability to empathize, predict actions and estimate skills in order to provoke reactions. Ultimately, Camouflage is a playful interactive installation for the wider public, a multi-user experience looking at how the VR experience can impact our senses and make us connect with our instincts. How do we assume the roles of the predator or the prey?

They offer different approaches to inspiring inspiration or managing innovation. Free “creative” art that is motivated not by commercialization but by internal stimuli to provide unmistakable studies or emotional touching faces. Often these technologies create or inspire unexpected solutions to industrial or everyday problems. Photography as a medium and, in particular, digital photography is now more and more popular in the eyes of professionals and the general public. Capture an interesting picture and give it a static in an attractive composition, if colorfulness is a difficult task in the past. Children have done very well with this creative task and have managed not only a photo but also a short film or animation. Static and moving images are easy to get into mobile phones, giving them a new look and versatility. These mobile forms offer space for the development of creativity, invention and creativity. The competition of photography and short film productions has an increasing trend of interest every year for Slovak pupils and students living abroad. The concept is based on three photographic and one film categories. In 2016, 635 photojournalists were presented before a professional jury (in the different categories: landscape 270, experiment 254 and action 111). In addition to the photo, 33 films from 4 countries (Serbia, Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine) were recorded.

Children’s greatest interest is traditionally in photography. The first category In AKCII presented a variety of approaches, mostly documentary character. She mapped people and situations. In some photographs, besides classical documentation, the children also worked with fine-grained stylized images. This aspect helped many photographers. The selection of the winning photos was 5 pictures, 2 of which were honored. Portrait portrait of youth and youth in black and white tone and fine vintage occupied 3rd place. A nice design in the form of generational contrast with the love of grandmother and child was placed above the cross. The winning photo shows a trio of girls on a cycle trip with a gently bent horizon that dramatically highlights an unidentifiable forced pause.

Category LANDSCAPE is a popular theme for kids that has the most frames. However, the landscape requires a concentrated focus and a perfect moment to shoot the shutter on the camera. Views of the natural and urban units also reached the winning trio. A night city in a perfect composition, or a house on the hill called Spring Mood with Grandma. An excellent moment was captured by a young photographer in the Sun Theater. The crane’s industrial arm in strong sunlight looks natural to the camera’s composer frame.

The last and also new category of the photo in the contest is EXPERIMENT. The task of the children was to experiment with light, shadow and all the settings the technology offers them. Four photos came to the final, in which a book from the book offered a sun-beam viewfinder. The First Fire is built on a distinct contrast to the orange-red fire and darkness in the focal pyramid. A fire that blows the hearth out of the image in the viewer creates a “hot” feeling. The penetration of the light rays of the street lamp over the tree crown became the dominant point of photography in the second place. The triple plan (tree, surface and ground) very nice to feel in the detailed view of the winning photo underlined by the delicate melancholy mood.

The Short Film and Video category brought up to six awards this year. Autumn rose was a time-consuming visual work, as a young photographer mapped the entire plant growth process that lasted for several days. In the end, static images were embedded in authentic animation. The animation was also central in a short, almost as out of the action film cut out, a car hobby part. A special prize was won by the Kovacice School for 6 minutes for a demanding one-stop shop. The third place includes a 2-minute animation on how the letter A was selected for the vandrovka. The current subject was very well captured by a pupil in a 3-minute film showing the risks and difficulties of social networks. The first place was defended last year’s winner from Serbia with a stopmotion drawing animation titled The Future is now. Nice idea and pleasant art decides. The expert committee is enjoying this year’s significant image quality and quality. An increase in animations and short films, as compared with the previous year, shows that children are also keen to work on time-consuming forms – such as movie media or animation. Children are actively demonstrating that they are watching and reflecting current themes and are able to give them a creative form and content from the perspective of the child’s eye.

The projection to one of its parts – devoted to the architecture of ESITYS ARKKITEHTUURI – was created by TRAKT, a civic association in Trencin. The preparation for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence was attended by Pavol Soukal (TRAKT), Tomáš Storinsky and Viktor Vilkovsky under the creative performance of Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT). The director and choreographer of the dance-visual show was taken over by Radoslav Piovarči (TRAKT). In a nearly 4-minute audiovisual performance, five dancers and dancers from Slovakia, four from Finland and one French participated. The communication between the various components was mainly provided by Rado and Ondrej Gece from production. On the music side, the project was shot by a young producer Pjoni devoted mainly to electronic music. Martin Kotúček contributed to the project. The prestigious Finnish architect Sami Rintala gave us valuable advice on Finnish architecture in online consultations.
