Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica was established by the National Council of the Slovak Republic no. 156/1997 Coll. on the establishment of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica on the date 01. 07. 1997. The Academy fulfills this mission by providing higher education in all three levels of study in the disciplines of music, visual art, theater, film and art multimédií.Poslaním Academy of Art, which is part of the European area higher education and a common European Research Area, to develop harmonious personality, knowledge, wisdom, goodness and creativity in man and to contribute to the development of a knowledge society.
