The original artistic work of Radoslav Piovarči (TRAKT) will be presented in the period from August 2022 to June 2023. The productions CHARON and JUST ASK HER. will be presented successively on the territory of the Slovak Republic.

CHARON

17 Aug 2022 at the festival Tanečnô in Námestovo

April 2023, Bratislava (planned performance)

July 2023, Košice (planned performance)

The project focuses on the presentation of Radoslav Piovarči’s authorial productions in the district towns, but also in the villages. The productions use the language of contemporary dance, but above all they reflect essential themes such as gender equality, moral attitude to death and active survival. The works were created in complicated years – Charon 2021, JUST ASk HER. 2022, when interest in culture was declining, but there was nevertheless great interest and demand for attendance of the productions. With the support of the Arts Support Fund, as well as its own resources, more than 15 performances have been staged in recent years.

After this experience of presenting works in different spaces where contemporary dance had no place until then, we know how beneficial it was for the public to see other art forms they had not encountered before. With more contemporary art on offer, there is also a greater demand for a cultural experience. With the new production JUST ASK HER, the project would have the opportunity to build on and continue the active work of Radoslav Piovarči (TRAKT) in the regions of Slovakia.Interaction with the public, as well as a form of provocation, are the reasons for stepping out of our comfort zone of technically equipped theatres. The aim of the project is to reprise each work in as many performances as possible, in the regional context of the Slovak Republic.

We cordially invite the audience to all the reprises, which I will inform you about on FACEBOOK and on the web www.trakt.sk

Supported from public funds by the Fund for the Support of the Arts.

The international project Park CAMP 9 creates space and suitable conditions for students, recent graduates and teachers of art colleges in Slovakia and abroad to improve and progress in the field of contemporary art – intermedia and interdisciplinary overlaps in the form of educational activities – workshops. The final output of the wokshops are visual works – interventions created for the specific environment of the city park in Trebišov (site-specific art) and the final exhibition focused this year on interactive art forms, in the environment of the park, where the participants work with the strategies of site-specific art, performance, public art, conceptual art and art of new media – technology.

The exhibition featured Lukáš Matejka / TRAKT (tech. collaboration Alžbeta Bobulová), with the work Home X. Home – Time – Humanity – Technology – Space. Using digital video mapping, the author contrasts the dwelling of the past (the ruins of Parič Castle) and the possible home of the future (the universe).

During the theoretical phase of the workshop, the participants improved their technical, technological and software skills while learning about current trends in the art field. During the practical phase, in cooperation with expert lecturers, they used the acquired experience directly in the field of the park. The educational laboratory provided direct experience with the realization of the work and confrontation with the viewer, where the participants gained new creative impulses, experience and knowledge in the field of contemporary visual art. The event included an accompanying activity GEO-Caching, an interactive game based on GPS coordinates designed for parents with children.

FRIDAY 26/8/2022 – FINISSAGE

18:00 Opening of the accompanying exhibition.

Trenčín on the riverbedFor the second time, the Akropola Kremnica Cultural Centre is preparing the NOCTURNO event, which will take place on 30 July 2022 in the Zechenter Garden in the picturesque town of Kremnica. Surrounded by the hills of Kremnica, this year we will immerse ourselves in a magical world in which light will play the main role on the penultimate night of July.

The name NOCTURNO comes from the word “nocturne” which means night music or instrumental piece played outdoors, for example as a serenade. The night during NOCTURNO should also be a kind of composition, a beautiful music of visual art. 30 July will be in the spirit of light projections and installations, in the former botanical garden built by the writer Gustáv Kazimír Zechenter-Laskomerský near his house.

During the event, artworks by artists such as Palo Truben, Lukáš Matejka (Martina Vargová collaboration), Tomáš Tulis, Tomáš Eniac Cíger, Ivana Laila Drobná and others will shine. The light installations will be complemented by a rich accompanying programme for children, screening of short films, night chilling with the band Chill on the sun, as well as a movement performance performed by the Dance Studio from Banská Bystrica.

Don’t miss the open-air night gallery and come and experience the magic of art in the golden Kremnica.

We look forward to your visit.

Hiding dance is a new site-specific concept from TRAKT, which consists of dance performances (contemporary dance and performance) in unconventional places in Trenčín and its periphery. As part of the field artistic research, we chose exteriors – slightly on the urban periphery, at the same time in easy spectator accessibility. With reference to the strong specificity of the places and the distinctive principle of genius loci. The project is a public confrontation of the results of professional dance-performative artists and interprétés Lucia Bielik, Michaela Šeligová, Radoslav Piovarči and Ján Gonda. Hidden Dance counts on the participation of the general public – casual spectators.

The project took place on Saturday 16 July 2022 in the public space of Trenčín and its peripheries.

The project was implemented with the financial support of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region and the City of Trenčín. Thank you.

Fulla’s works are leaving their home after decades – the Ľudovít Fulla Gallery and Ružomberok. The current unsatisfactory state of disrepair of the gallery building does not allow for the further display of originals of incalculable value. The consequence is that Fulla will leave his own gallery until a major reconstruction is carried out.

The site-specific performance, which is a combination of dance, theatre, music and lighting design, brings a symbolic, unique and unrepeatable farewell to the work of Ľ.
The Festival of lights and shadow in the heart of Slovakia came into existence in 2015 on the occasion of the UN declaration of that year as the International Year of lights and light-based technologies. The aim of this step is to remind people across the world of what a significant role light and optical technologies play in the everyday life and in the future development of our society.

Our festival will bring an adaptation of a subject of MEMORY into the public space of the city of Banská Bystrica with the help of contemporary artists in December 2021. Many artists work with the subject of memory, often to record something for future generations. Others prefer to disrupt the memory in unexpected ways to change the methods by which we look at the past. How does the art influence our collective memory? And how can it inform our experience about significant events of our time?

We want to do art that tells stories. Stories about personal and cultural memory. Art is open to interpretation. Memory of the past is not a clear story. It is a combination of opinions from different points of view.

WHEN: 15. – 18. 12. 2021

WHERE: public space of Banská Bystrica

Do you need more space? Do you want to be here? How does it feel to be in the spotlight? What do you want to say? Is anybody interested in what you have to say? Do you have to scream to be heard? How do you feel? Can I share this space with you? Do I treat you fairly? Why are you so serious? What does it mean to be respected? How long are you going to wait? Would you speak up, if you were asked to? Can you do it on your own? In whose shoes are you currently walking? What about the protocol? How do we deal with it? Are we able to find a solution?

The interdisciplinary project Earth builds on the interaction of several artistic fields. It is based on Ivana Mer’s album “Earth” (which was nominated for the Radio Head Awards as the album of the year in the world music folk category) and develops it further. Visual artist Mária Júdová created stunning video projections, artist Katarína Caková created a special scenography, the hand-woven costume is from the workshop of Daniela Danielis WNOOZOW, and the choreographer Soňa Ferienčíková took care of the movement preparation. The blurred boundaries between the genres thus become even more fluid, so that the viewer is carried away by the current into the surprising and remote corners of a unique musical and visual universe.

Focusing on the changes we are going through as humanity, but also about the deep essences we have in common as humanity, this interdisciplinary project aims to to pass on the call of the Earth for change and for a more conscious approach to it as well as to ourselves. Project is an ode to nature, the call for empathy, and a change in our behavior.

Re:index is an intermedia project at the crossroads between sound and object installations linked with contemporary dance, fine arts, intervention into the public space and institutional criticism, IT and an interactive game for the spectator.

It processes the phenomenon of the virtually perceived world – the real one, by using interactive storytelling, comprehending the ideology of the place through the language of contemporary art, semiotics and social paradigms. The project uncovers motives of a perceiving individual subject – as a mythical entity in a collective situation, and dramatically re/constructs possible and expectable situations on which it uncovers local social-historical relations of the place as well as current and speculative conditions of the existence of the non/place, modern rituals and infra/structures, in which the subject finds itself at the given moment.

Simply said, it is a paraphrase of a computer game, an open world story, where the spectator becomes the player in the real world, the structure and universal significance of which he/she process through a filter of current artistic and cultural considerations offering it to new experiences, movement, discovery of new senses, reflections and connectivity of networks around us. The project is focused on an expert or an amateur spectator, children, students or teachers. The aim is to create and introduce an interdisciplinary play, as a universally transferable and complete installation lasting several hours that highlights the interaction between the spectator and the environment (passive as well as active).

The premiere of the project:

07/05/2021 | Friday | 12:00 – 21:00 | Trenčín | surroundings of the Miloš Alexander Bazovský Gallery, Palackého 27

+ online stream at www.trakt.sk/re-index

Dance-visual performance entitled CHARON is inspired by the mythological creature Charon – the ferrymen of souls, and the Joseph Campbell thesis about mythology being a power able to create moral systems. The Charon´s character was selected to personify human qualities in their self-reflection. It shows a contrast in the characters reflecting the attitudes to the ancient story. The theme that had already resonated in Ancient Greece highlights the fact how much is the value of money deep rooted into the human conscience. We may find the inspiration in several mythos, paintings by famous artists, ancient songs and texts. The cornerstone of the creative process is the very recitation of sound-quaint ancient texts and their transformation into the movement, performance and musical composition. The stories of our myths of the current being transcend the borders of worlds and shift the movement and the music into a more intense relationship. A series of video arts will be created during the creative process.
