Interactive exhibition at Strečno Castle

On Monday, 3 July 2023, the Považské Museum inaugurated a part of the interactive exhibition at Strečno Castle. The new exposition, in which TRAKT, among others, participated, is divided into two parts. The first is dedicated to the owners and administrators of the castle, the second is focused on the military history of the castle. “Right at the beginning, visitors will be greeted by an important personality connected with Strečno Castle – Žofia Bosniaková, who will tell about the life and fate of the castle owners, its administrators and personalities connected with life at Strečno Castle from its very beginnings through a video story. The atmosphere will be accentuated by a moving large-screen projection, which will complement the narrated story. Both young and old visitors will be entertained by the shadow play, where the main role will be played by soldiers. Fun will also be provided at the selfie wall, where they can enjoy, for example, a costume mirror. For those who want to learn more, there is an info kiosk with a touchscreen encyclopaedia in the exhibition, with more detailed information about the history of the castle, the owners and administrators of the castle and military history,” explained the co-author of the script Mgr. Andrea Slaná, PhD. Part of the new exhibition is accessible to visitors as part of the guided tour. Strečno Castle is open every day from 9.00 to 18.00 with the last entrance at 17.00.

One of them is certainly the fate of the owner, Benigna Kiniži, who is said to have taken her three husbands out of the world. The theatre and play group RAZCA will prepare frightening and humorous scenes from her life under the title (Un)Forgotten Secrets. In addition, a magical fire show performed by Black Evils awaits visitors in the courtyard. There will also be a popular video mapping from the TRAKT workshop. The visual experience will be complemented by a taste experience and the medieval cuisine of the Terra de Selinan Guild will delight the taste buds. We recommend taking torches to shine under your feet.

Night of ghosts, pumpkins and ghouls

Darkness, castle corners and mysterious creatures of all kinds all in one place. Can you imagine? Experience the spooky atmosphere of a medieval castle with us! You will even find out if the ghosts in the castle are stealing at the Thieves at Strečno experience show performed by the historical fencing group Wagus from Trenčín. You will be able to taste the delicacies prepared by the Terra de Selinan Guild, and the Haunted Bar with its traditionally unusual delicacies will also be open. There will also be video mapping on the castle walls by TRAKT.

Night tour of Strečno Castle 2022

Experience the atmosphere of a medieval castle and enjoy a night tour! On Wednesday, July 20, 2022 and August 10, 2022 you can enjoy the performance of the theatre and play group RAZCA called Hey Partisan, Take Me With You! The story will take place in the castle premises against the background of the Slovak National Uprising, which did not bypass the Strečno Castle. The events at the castle and its history will be presented through video mapping by the TRAKT civic association. The programme will also include a breathtaking fire show performed by Black Evils, medieval cuisine will flourish thanks to the association Guild Terra de Selinan and the castle cannon will be brought to life by OZ Turiec.

Night tour of Strečno Castle 2019

Strečno Castle also lives at night during the summer, and popular tours in the late hours attract hundreds of visitors. On Saturday 20 July 2019 and 24 August 2019 a special program is waiting for all interested parties. This time they can look forward to an exciting fairy-tale called “The Heart of the Dragon or How Duro Became King”, in which the present will learn how, after many pitfalls, love and goodness will once again win. The tour begins on the stage near the Medieval Village of Paseka. Attractive scenes will be screened directly on the walls. The final projection on the castle wall is realized by TRAKT. The final scene also includes a fire show. In addition, they will see all the rooms and the mysterious corners of the castle.

“In our night tours, we always try to present interesting stories that are attractive to all ages. The environment of a dark castle and a living fire will only enhance the mysterious atmosphere. It is advisable to take a flashlight for tours and are not recommended for children under 8 years of age due to late time. Entry in both terms will be at 21.00, 22.00 and 23.00. The magnificent sightseeing of Strečno Castle in a night-time atmosphere with an extraordinary program in the castle’s monsters. The personality of this year’s night tour was one of the owners of Strečno Castle, Barbora Celjska. Her life in short humorous scenes was approached by the Wagus Historical Fencing Group and revived in the courtyard of the castle in the Light Shadow Queen Barbora thanks to the modern technology of light and motion – projection mapping from the artists of TRAKT. Part of the tour was also a fire show, performance of Kapor improvisation theater on the stage, or mini-concert in the chapel.

Attractive sightseeing of Strečno Castle in a night-time atmosphere with an interesting program in the castle and underground. In these mysterious evenings, you will present stories of three women – noble Benigna, Julia Kapuletová and Žofia Bosňková. Two of them, Benigna and Žofia, lived directly on our castle, Júlia came from the Italian town of Verona. At first glance, it may seem that these women have nothing in common, but the opposite is true. All three have entered history and people’s awareness, and even after many years, their lives do not cease to pay attention. Therefore, during the four night tours of the Strečno Castle, select with us the secrets of these three women.

The atmosphere of the tour will be enhanced by the light story of Žofie Bosniak. It is a short display of the story of Žofia by the light, illusion and mystery of the evening medieval castle. This is the first time that modern technology of light and movement will be used in the castle. After the digital projection, TRAKT is composed (Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal) in cooperation with the WAGUS historical fencing group from Trenčín. The culmination of each night tour will be an impressive black show – Black Evils. Organizers recommend bringing with you torches. Due to the night, the castle is suitable for children from 8 years of age.
