Young filmmakers visited Trenčín

Project Film workshop was realized in Trenčín and its surroundings.

Throughout the week was filming a movie called Night News. Daniela Slávikova’s work was also attended by students of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Trenčín from the field of photographic design.

Thus, secondary school students had the opportunity to cooperate on a joint project with the Studio of Audiovisual Art of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Students had the opportunity to directly experience film production and its creative process. During the workshop they also created their own outputs in the form of photographs and videos. During the main shooting day in Munich they could also try the action in extras. Professional film technology from Tomas Bata University was used during the project.

This project allowed professional shooting to be linked to a practical workshop. Projects of a similar type in which the university cooperates with a secondary school are very rare. However, they provide a wealth of experience for high school and university students learning new collaborations. Students of the Academy of Arts in Trenčín still have a theoretical part of film preparation and discussion with filmmakers. The project was organized by the civic association TRAKT, which has long been active in the field of art and education throughout Slovakia.

The film was shot for 4 days at 3 different locations. 2 places were located in Trenčín and 1 in the Munich time center, a cultural house.

Interactive experiential educational event at the Regional Cultural Center in Prievidza, focused on the life and activities of Milan Rastislav Štefánik. The aim is to bring one of the most important personalities of our history closer to pupils and students. How? In an unconventional – experiential way, through their own activities. The area of augmented reality was covered by Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) and Peter Marcinov.

Augmented reality on a smartphone or tablet will reveal to children and visitors to the exhibition about MR Štefánik areas and topics such as astronomy, aviation, politics – rhetoric, communication, military science – World War I, its course, Stefanik’s participation in it, travel – getting to know countries etc.

Light Valmez 2019

A unique combination of video mapping, music and gastronomy – this is the 3rd edition of the Light Valmez festival. Festival from Wallachia, which collects one award after another. A 120-meter video mapping turns the local park into a forest full of living trees, creatures and animals. There are 33 installations and video maps to light up all around.

You can look forward to combining lights and music. Famous film melodies will be launched by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra. Twenty other artists are waiting for you: Grains, PARA, Tata Bojs, Katarzia, Lenka Dusilova, Orf Brothers, WWW Neurobeat. We are also preparing YouTubers stage, in cooperation with Autocentrum Lukáš and TRAKT. An interactive retro game in the style of the legendary “Bomberman” will be available to viewers and YouTuber at this stage.

On Your Own Feet 3

The non-profit organization Voices organized the third continuation of the event On Their Own Feet, which took place in the centre of Trencin in the Vazka Gallery on Tuesday 19 February 2019 from 18:00.

The wider goal of the format is to non-violently motivate young people in the city to creativity and autonomy, to facilitate new friendship formation, and cooperation and to contribute to the development of the community. The main line is the presentation of speakers. One of them was also a member and a co-founder of TRAKT, Mgr. art. Štefan Oliš. Among other speakers there were: Marek Hattas, Miša Chmelickova, Peter Michalik and Zuzana Vaskova. The notional line was set high. All the representatives were talking about how they went and go for what they like and what they care about.

Creative workshops

Creative workshops reflect current trends in the culture of new media art and digital art. In the local context, they significantly support the development of creativity and the creative potential of Trenčín’s youth. At the same time, the project helps to improve the personal competencies of young people in their work life. It helps to overcome barriers in both creative and collaborative creative research and experiments through “technology and software games”. That all was performed for a period of four days (2×2 format) under the conception and supervision of professional lecturers and artists.

The lecturer of the first series of workshops with the topic of VJ was Ľubomír Slovinsky. One week later, Mgr.art.Lukáš Matejka, ArtD (TRAKT), a lecturer, developed the topic of videomapping as a follow up to the workshops.

Svetlo Valmez light festival and Jirka Kral

On September 7, 2018, the second edition of the Light and Film Festival called Valmez Light was held in Valašské Meziříčí. The organizers have also memorized this year in making the program for children and young people. A large part of the upcoming installation is aimed directly at them. What more. Children from Valašské Meziříčí schools and nurseries were directly involved in the creation of the festival’s content. Children paint pictures according to their own fantasy in prepared templates. At the festival, they could watch how their drawings turned into 3D light directly on the facades of the buildings. All original visitors will be able to see the workshop at the Žerotín Castle café, where drawings by children from the Polish town of Radlin and Slovak Čadca were exhibited as part of the Vysehrad Lighting Festival project. Another attraction was undoubtedly the exhibition Meopta – the magic world of optics. In the big hall of KZ, visitors could try for example giant crust, UV light or polarization. This exhibition has been prepared by Meopta, which specializes in optical products, together with the ÚdiF Association (The Amazing Theater of Physics).

The teenagers got into the game of popular YouTuber Jirka Král. Thanks to the interactive projection from the TRAKT (Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal) divided into two parts, they could not only play an author’s computer game against Jirka Kráľ. All this within the ŠKODA CAR ZONE, which was located in the space under the parking lot at the Cimal Business House. The light at the festival was literally tangible! Most installations were prepared so that visitors themselves could change colors or direction of light by touch or movement. Interactive was also used by Rožnovská dance group Heart2B and Meziříčská D – Company.

Multifestival 2018: Move of the skeleton

With the support of the Arts Support Fund, the City of Trenčín and the Trenčianska Foundation, the third follow-up of the Children’s Festival under the new name Multifestival took place on June 26, 2018. The name of the festival changed based on the feedback we received. We have learned that children of elementary school no longer feel like children, so we have chosen to change the name of the festival in order to maintain the attractiveness and multi-genre.

The theme of the 3 rd year was a dance with the subtitle: Move of the skeleton. The program was played in the interior and exterior of the Hvězda cinema in Trenčín. The first part consisted of a presentation section, where various dance groups appeared, representing a wide range of styles and types of dance. The current dance was represented by experienced performer Martina Vargová from Trnava, Hip hop presented dance group LT – Len dance from Nová Dubnice, folk dance – local Trenčan Folklore ensemble, social dance – MS Dance, and the penetration between dance and martial art represented by the band – Abadá Capoeira. The live performances of the dancers were divided by two blocks of short video cards, animations and movies. The whole program was moderated by young talented moderator Renata Iršová from Trenčín. At the end of the “static” section, the children were divided freely into four groups for hip-hop, contemporary dance, folk dances and an attractive, accompanying program from KC Activities. It has actually come to the movement on one’s own skin and to the basic elements of dance styles, or various movement and dance-related activities. Interestingly, Martinina Varga’s workshop was the most successful of the world from the least known form – contemporary dance.

Among the strengths of the festival, we can certainly advise on the feedback of performers and spectators, an excellent organization, also contributed by five volunteers led by Mgr. art. Štefan Oliš (Simona Lengvarská, Ivana Juríčková, Tereza Repková, Boris Mozola and Kristína Mošková) as well as the traditional part of KC Activities. It can be said that everything was clapping and walking as watches and we are more sorry about the number of participants who moved (in smaller numbers than a year ago) about 400 children. We already know that we have much more programmatic as well as spectator potential. In this respect, we want to develop even more activity, set the right strategy and get stable young participants.

The Idea of the Festival to Mediate and Present to Children and Youth under the Castle of Matúš Čáka The different genres of culture, art and creativity (2016: The Film World, 2017: Open Studio, 2018: Skeleton of the Skeleton) is conceptually fulfilled. We are glad that we have spent the organizational part. Thus, the Multifestival continues its full-fledged trend and continues to develop its tradition. Art in park – pixelation workshop

In the park environment, various accompanying activities were also prepared during the four days of the festival. Inspirational discussions, PARK MARKET, with fresh cut, were handled by craftsmen from Elite Barber. You could work with Lucky and Maťom with your own weight, learn to breathe properly and use the center of your body. The original piece of clothing was designed with the help of a workshop from Žabka. You could even become part of your own movie thanks to the Pixelation workshop from the creative guys from TRAKT. A commentary on the city tour brought the C20: Trenčianske Teplice Architecture Guide and the Off Season. The program also included a tour of the students’ final work in Trenčín – a garment designed by Veronika Kostková. Relaxation in the chillout zone of the park complemented the festival gastro zone.

The ART IN PARK festival came in different age categories – children, young people and adults were involved and they all created a great atmosphere full of joy and well-being! More than 4,380 viewers watched the film, Dubcek was most attracted to the movie theater, and became the most popular film of the Ciarra triler in the open-air screening. The ART IN PARK festival also enjoyed great reactions, and on Facebook’s social network, the videos from the festival had more than 18,000 views.

7 road 1 path

From July 26th to August 17th, 2017, two students of SUŠ Trenčín Patrik Kubizna and Jakub Michalička took part in the Erasmus + program in France through our civic association TRAKT. At the turn of July and August, they went on a trip to the little Condat village amid this beautiful country where they spent the next few weeks. Every day, along with sixty other participants from the countries: Turkey, Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary, France and Italy. During the program, not only the artists from these countries were known, but also the local French culture and customs. Every day, they have the opportunity to discuss migration issues not only between program participants but also migrants themselves. During joint cultural and educational activities, they were educated in the field of music, dance, but also under the guidance of Turkish professionals in creative filmmaking. The stay consisted of 23 days full of fun, familiarity with domestic and foreign customs and good French wine.
