Interactive exhibition at Strečno Castle

On Monday, 3 July 2023, the Považské Museum inaugurated a part of the interactive exhibition at Strečno Castle. The new exposition, in which TRAKT, among others, participated, is divided into two parts. The first is dedicated to the owners and administrators of the castle, the second is focused on the military history of the castle. “Right at the beginning, visitors will be greeted by an important personality connected with Strečno Castle – Žofia Bosniaková, who will tell about the life and fate of the castle owners, its administrators and personalities connected with life at Strečno Castle from its very beginnings through a video story. The atmosphere will be accentuated by a moving large-screen projection, which will complement the narrated story. Both young and old visitors will be entertained by the shadow play, where the main role will be played by soldiers. Fun will also be provided at the selfie wall, where they can enjoy, for example, a costume mirror. For those who want to learn more, there is an info kiosk with a touchscreen encyclopaedia in the exhibition, with more detailed information about the history of the castle, the owners and administrators of the castle and military history,” explained the co-author of the script Mgr. Andrea Slaná, PhD. Part of the new exhibition is accessible to visitors as part of the guided tour. Strečno Castle is open every day from 9.00 to 18.00 with the last entrance at 17.00.

Night tour of Strečno Castle 2022

Experience the atmosphere of a medieval castle and enjoy a night tour! On Wednesday, July 20, 2022 and August 10, 2022 you can enjoy the performance of the theatre and play group RAZCA called Hey Partisan, Take Me With You! The story will take place in the castle premises against the background of the Slovak National Uprising, which did not bypass the Strečno Castle. The events at the castle and its history will be presented through video mapping by the TRAKT civic association. The programme will also include a breathtaking fire show performed by Black Evils, medieval cuisine will flourish thanks to the association Guild Terra de Selinan and the castle cannon will be brought to life by OZ Turiec.

National Day of Slovakia at EXPO Dubai

Slovakia will also present itself at the largest international event EXPO during a special national day. It will take place on 27 January 2022 in the EXPO2020 area and will not be missing Slovak artists or the official delegation of the Slovak Republic, which will include, for example, President Zuzana Čaputová. A unique Slovak show on the spectacular Jubilee stage in Dubai.

The river as the idea of the Slovak National Day

Water plays a big role in our lives and since Slovakia has the largest reserves of drinking water and many watercourses, this vital commodity has become the theme not only of our Slovak pavilion, but will also be the main idea of our national day at EXPO2020. Rivers are Slovakia’s natural treasure. They connect and link their springs, and the National Day will also offer a blending of traditional and modern elements. Water and its various forms and moods, as well as its smooth flow, are a tribute to our traditions combined with bold ideas.

The Slovak Pavilion therefore invites everyone to experience a concept of artistic performances built on multi-genre collaboration of talented artists who creatively complement each other and seamlessly intertwine. The aim is to bring an extraordinary artistic experience from Slovakia, to proudly showcase its traditions and to present the courage and talent of the Slovak people and push them into the modern world. There will be musical and dance components, traditional Slovak musical instruments, colourful costumes with the help of thematic projections. On the Dubai Jubilee Stage, moderator Bruno Ciberej will gradually introduce Slovak artists to the world.

SĽUK will accompany the audience and the artists throughout the programme. Besides the artistic value, the company’s various music and dance variations are a dramaturgical promise that the audience will not tire of its performances. The fusion of tradition and modern elements is perfectly fulfilled in this case, as is the motif of the entire gala programme flowing like the waters of the Váh, and the motif of the journey of tradition into the modern world. SĽUK is not only about singing and dancing, through it we communicate to the audience the beauty of our traditions, the colourful playfulness, and the stories of the Slovak people, which are our precious heritage.

The young Slovak violin virtuoso Filip Jančík will bring together traditional musical art or musical instrument with modern arrangements and the use of spectacular visual elements. There will be no shortage of precise playing and well-known world music, which will incorporate traditional elements (fujara, cimbalom). Filip’s musical talent lies in his ability to re-arrange traditional Slovak compositions into a modern sound so that the Slovak audience can identify with his work. At the same time, his personality in combination with his talent is so interesting that he “testifies” on the stage with his band as well as with the SĽUKU costumed choir.

Billy Barman is a modern Slovak band that is completely at home in the genre of gentle indie rock-pop, in a world context they also carry “something Slovak”: whether it is the playful lyrics or the coolness they can get their audience into. A special Slovak essence is brought to their work by 5 gorgeous female singers from SĽUK, who take this project to an exceptional level with a specific, catchy and easily identifiable feel.

Jana Kirschner with her undeniable musical talent, professional international experience, authentic expression and girlish charisma represents a perfect fusion of claims to “Slovakness” and “worldliness” at the same time. The uniqueness of her work lies not only in the precisely written Slovak lyrics, the variety of arrangements and distinct folk elements, but also in the unmistakable playfulness and sincerity with which she wins the audience’s favour. Jana’s musical temperament will be effectively complemented by the dancers from SĽUKU to bring a strong feminine element and energy to the stage.

Visual projections for the gala programme were prepared by digital artist Lukáš Matejka from the TRAKT association. The voiceovers used footage from the beautiful Slovak Folklore project. Thank you.

Night tours of Strečno Castle 2017

Attractive sightseeing of Strečno Castle in a night-time atmosphere with an interesting program in the castle and underground. In these mysterious evenings, you will present stories of three women – noble Benigna, Julia Kapuletová and Žofia Bosňková. Two of them, Benigna and Žofia, lived directly on our castle, Júlia came from the Italian town of Verona. At first glance, it may seem that these women have nothing in common, but the opposite is true. All three have entered history and people’s awareness, and even after many years, their lives do not cease to pay attention. Therefore, during the four night tours of the Strečno Castle, select with us the secrets of these three women.

The atmosphere of the tour will be enhanced by the light story of Žofie Bosniak. It is a short display of the story of Žofia by the light, illusion and mystery of the evening medieval castle. This is the first time that modern technology of light and movement will be used in the castle. After the digital projection, TRAKT is composed (Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal) in cooperation with the WAGUS historical fencing group from Trenčín. The culmination of each night tour will be an impressive black show – Black Evils. Organizers recommend bringing with you torches. Due to the night, the castle is suitable for children from 8 years of age.

Introducing of the “Tourist Diary”

The castle of Trenčín became the place of presentation of “Tourist diary” for children during its open day (14th of April 2014). The event was held under the Chair of TSK Jaroslav Baška.

Except the other visitors, 1385 children of primary schools from all the region. For the first time TSK prepared such a huge event with cooperation of SACR and Europe Direct. There was the theatre Dunajka with two clowns, music group Level Funf from ZUŠ Trenčín and dance group Goonies Girls. At 10:00 Chair Jaroslav Baška together with the authors of “Tourist diary” Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) and Marek Janičík (TRAKT) introduced this promotion material of region of Trenčín to the students. “I am very pleased, that I can here, among you, baptize the diary with the stickers. You will stick them into the diary during your trips around our region,” said Chairman and put a questions from history to the audience. Right answers were priced. After the ceremony, the students enjoyed together with teachers the guide across the castle. They got new information, bought some small gifts in local craftsmen and so they met with one of the places mentioned in the “Tourist diary” – The Castle of Trenčín.

The new promotional publication, issued by TSK in the beginning of the summer tourist season, will children receive for free. They can find here 28 interesting and important things in the region. Each historical monument or place has in the diary its description together with the place for sticker. The stickers will be available for free at every place mentioned in the diary, so after the visit children can put this sticker on its own place in the diary. If they fill the right answers into the crosswords at the end of the diary, they can send it to the address of TSK until 1st of December. Winners will be gifted, for example all-day skipass to Fačkovské sedlo, wellness for the whole family in Park hotel Baračka or The Hotel Flora, honor entry for the whole family to Castle of Trenčín, or to the events in Bojnice Castle and many others. The final draw will take place on 8th of December. The first diaries took the children immediately, for the others will TSK distribute them until the Easter holidays.

14th conference about of the tourism

On March 27th, Marek Janičík and Lukáš Matejka (the members of TRAKT) attended 14th Conference of tourism in Prievidza called „Po toku Nitry“. Representatives of civic association TRAKT held at this conference short lecture about the new possibilities in tourism promotion. They focused mainly on new forms of promotional materials, more modern graphics, viral and promo videos. The aim of the lecture was to inform the public and people who deal with tourism to achieve the greatest success with propagation of their hotels, museums and hostels. And they wanted them to know to distinguish quality work of graphics from non-quality. The members of TRAKT decided for this lecture because of the fact, that the associations, organizations or entrepreneurs at tourism often pay big money for poor quality promo material. Sometimes in makes even anti-advertising. Often, the potential which the hotel or museum has, is not used. The lecture of the TRAKT members had therefore great importance and we look forward, that the interest about it was really big.
