Žilina shines with New Year’s light

We are pleased to announce that our civic association TRAKT, in cooperation with the city of Žilina, is preparing a unique New Year’s Eve experience. We will decorate beautiful Žilina with an enchanting light show – video mapping, which will come to life on the facade of the Church of the Conversion of St. Paul on Marian Square. We want the New Year’s Eve night in Žilina to be unforgettable. Videomapping is a modern and visually impressive way to celebrate the arrival of the New Year and create an atmosphere of joy and anticipation. We have prepared a stunning visual spectacle that will transport you into a world of fantasy. You will witness a unique symbiosis of art, technology and architecture.

When and where?

When: New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2024, we start a few seconds before midnight

Where: Marian Square, Žilina (on the facade of the Church of the Conversion of St. Paul)

Celebration of the 695th anniversary of the town of Kremnica

On 16 November 2023, together with the City of Kremnica, we celebrated a historical milestone – the 695th anniversary of the granting of city privileges. The Kremnica Acropolis and Stefanik Square witnessed a unique event that brought the community together and celebrated the rich history of this beautiful city. An early evening parade started in front of the Acropolis, heading towards the town hall, and brought a wonderful experience full of light, colour and joy.

At the end, we met at the Municipal Office, where a varied programme awaited us. The Fokoš mining choir brought us an unforgettable musical experience, along with speeches, video-mapping on the Municipal Office building and folk music by the Majer family. Together we created a memorable moment in the history of Kremnica. Thank you for your participation and we look forward to more celebrations together!

Celebration of the 30th anniversary of DK Zrkadlový háj

The House of Culture Zrkadlový háj celebrates its 30th birthday. On this occasion, they have prepared a selection of events for their audiences, which will be realized during the whole season. They cordially invite you to the celebrations, which will be realized through three representative events.

The first of them will be the opening of the Culture House Petržalka. The day-long programme will take place on 16 September in the square in front of the entrance to the building. The celebratory event is seen as a gift for spectators and supporters on the occasion of the opening of the 30th season and also as the end of the summer. Admission to the event will therefore be free.

The program is designed for the general public. The small audience will be delighted by the folklore group Hájenka with their theatrical performance Don Šajn and Šašo Ľuboš with his performance, which will be followed by the contemporary circus Cirkus Cirkus with an acrobatic show created directly for the House of Culture. Since the guys from Malalata make nice parties, they cannot miss the 30th anniversary celebrations. The artistic group TRAKT is preparing a spectacular ending in the form of Videommapping on the building of the Mirror Grove – an audiovisual show projected on the building.

Night tour of Strečno Castle 2023

Come and enjoy the medieval atmosphere after dark! Strečno Castle hides various mysterious stories. One of them is certainly the fate of the owner, Benigna Kiniži, who is said to have taken her three husbands out of the world. The theatre and play group RAZCA will prepare frightening and humorous scenes from her life under the title (Un)Forgotten Secrets. In addition, a magical fire show performed by Black Evils awaits visitors in the courtyard. There will also be a popular video mapping from the TRAKT workshop. The visual experience will be complemented by a taste experience and the medieval cuisine of the Terra de Selinan Guild will delight the taste buds. We recommend taking torches to shine under your feet.

The continuation of Tales from Trenčín brought visitors the story of the last Trenčín executioner Matej. An extraordinary open-air show, full of spectacular light displays and unique acrobatic performances. The story took place in the centre of Trenčín, right on the Peace Square. The spectators could see the show on 30 June 2023 or 1 July 2023 from 9.30 pm, starting at the Elizabeth Hotel. Oskar Tadlánek from the Normani fencing group played the main role of the executioner Matej. The author of the story and director of the night show is Vlado Kulíšek. Projections and video mapping were created by TRAKT.

Night of ghosts, pumpkins and ghouls

Darkness, castle corners and mysterious creatures of all kinds all in one place. Can you imagine? Experience the spooky atmosphere of a medieval castle with us! You will even find out if the ghosts in the castle are stealing at the Thieves at Strečno experience show performed by the historical fencing group Wagus from Trenčín. You will be able to taste the delicacies prepared by the Terra de Selinan Guild, and the Haunted Bar with its traditionally unusual delicacies will also be open. There will also be video mapping on the castle walls by TRAKT.

Night tour of Strečno Castle 2022

Experience the atmosphere of a medieval castle and enjoy a night tour! On Wednesday, July 20, 2022 and August 10, 2022 you can enjoy the performance of the theatre and play group RAZCA called Hey Partisan, Take Me With You! The story will take place in the castle premises against the background of the Slovak National Uprising, which did not bypass the Strečno Castle. The events at the castle and its history will be presented through video mapping by the TRAKT civic association. The programme will also include a breathtaking fire show performed by Black Evils, medieval cuisine will flourish thanks to the association Guild Terra de Selinan and the castle cannon will be brought to life by OZ Turiec.

Park camp 9

The international project Park CAMP 9 creates space and suitable conditions for students, recent graduates and teachers of art colleges in Slovakia and abroad to improve and progress in the field of contemporary art – intermedia and interdisciplinary overlaps in the form of educational activities – workshops. The final output of the wokshops are visual works – interventions created for the specific environment of the city park in Trebišov (site-specific art) and the final exhibition focused this year on interactive art forms, in the environment of the park, where the participants work with the strategies of site-specific art, performance, public art, conceptual art and art of new media – technology.

The exhibition featured Lukáš Matejka / TRAKT (tech. collaboration Alžbeta Bobulová), with the work Home X. Home – Time – Humanity – Technology – Space. Using digital video mapping, the author contrasts the dwelling of the past (the ruins of Parič Castle) and the possible home of the future (the universe).

During the theoretical phase of the workshop, the participants improved their technical, technological and software skills while learning about current trends in the art field. During the practical phase, in cooperation with expert lecturers, they used the acquired experience directly in the field of the park. The educational laboratory provided direct experience with the realization of the work and confrontation with the viewer, where the participants gained new creative impulses, experience and knowledge in the field of contemporary visual art. The event included an accompanying activity GEO-Caching, an interactive game based on GPS coordinates designed for parents with children.

Severus – Soldier of Laugaritium

The seventh continuation of the Tales from Trenčín takes visitors back to the 2nd century, when the Romans appeared on the territory of the future Trenčín. The main character will be Severus, a soldier from Laugaricio.

Come and see an extraordinary open-air show, full of spectacular light displays and breathtaking acrobatic feats. The story this year will take place in the city centre, in the spaces around the Army House. You can see the performance on 1 and 2 July at 9.30 pm. The start will be at the service – side entrance of the Army House.

The main role of Severo will be played by Dušan Tadlánek from the Normani fencing group, the role of Mark Valerius will be played by Štefan Richtárech, an actor from the Municipal Theatre of Trenčín. The acrobatic show will be performed by acrobats from Vertigo and professional slackliner Lukáš Černý. MusicaMusicantica from Mojmírovce near Nitra will take care of the period music, interesting lighting and projection visuals have been prepared by Trenčín Trakt, the Roman soldiers will be taken care of by the historical fencing group Wagus. The story of Severus was compiled and directed by Trenčín’s Vlado Kulíšek, again, as in the previous six stories.
