The story of purity in the Dubnica Museum

Discover how the view of personal hygiene has changed, what rituals of cleanliness accompanied our ancestors, and how these practices shaped their culture and daily lives. An exhibition full of interesting facts will immerse you in the world of the past from 29 August 2024 to 6 January 2025 during the opening hours of the Dubnica Museum.

The exhibition includes a grand opening, which will take place in the Dubnica Manor on 5 September 2024 at 5 pm.

During the evening, the dance ensemble Alla Danza Brno – Baroque will perform Baroque dance demonstrations.

The exhibition dedicated to the period hygiene was organized in cooperation with the Dubnica Museum: Museum of Historical Vintages and Toilets in Prague, Museum of the City of Bratislava, Považské múzeum, Trenčianske múzeum in Trenčín, artist Ladislav Čarný.

Celebration of the 695th anniversary of the town of Kremnica

On 16 November 2023, together with the City of Kremnica, we celebrated a historical milestone – the 695th anniversary of the granting of city privileges. The Kremnica Acropolis and Stefanik Square witnessed a unique event that brought the community together and celebrated the rich history of this beautiful city. An early evening parade started in front of the Acropolis, heading towards the town hall, and brought a wonderful experience full of light, colour and joy.

At the end, we met at the Municipal Office, where a varied programme awaited us. The Fokoš mining choir brought us an unforgettable musical experience, along with speeches, video-mapping on the Municipal Office building and folk music by the Majer family. Together we created a memorable moment in the history of Kremnica. Thank you for your participation and we look forward to more celebrations together!

The Festival of Light and Shadow 2019 in Trnava

In 2019 the Festival of Light and Shadow is expanding from the public space of Banská Bystrica to “Little Rome” to Trnava. In Trnava’s environment, the project will not offer viewers a superficial superficial lighting “show”, but will present contemporary visual and lighting art in the public space of the historical center.

Young art projects will sensitively open the theme of the union in their wide cultural and social spectrum by their ideological legacy. Projects will focus on networking, collaboration (multi-generation, multi-genre, cross-species), networking, networking, connectivity and finding new ways. The festival’s priority is to provide space for young, un-established artists from Slovakia and the European environment. The festival wants to be the engine at the start of their professional artistic career. We want to inspire, educate and entertain the general public. Park camp 5

The fifth year of the summer visual symposium PARK CAMP 2018 focuses on contemporary visual art in the public space of Trebišov City Park. The theme of the year was video mapping & sound art. The aim of the event was to create visual interventions that would respond directly to the specific area of Trebišov (site-specific art). In the park there is the Julius Andrássy Mauzolaum, a manor house with a French garden, fountains, a convent, ruins of Parič Castle, an amphitheater, a pond with an island, and many other places and selected locations for the realization of intermediary installations that can invite artists to revive their creativity and creativity. The park was one of the largest and most beautiful forest parks in Central Europe during the period between Austria and Hungary, which is why the organizer has the ambition to develop and organize cultural activities beyond the interior of the Koniareň gallery.

During the event, the audience could see the hypnotic audiovisual show on the historical façade of the baroque-classicist manor house or the planned animation for the castle of Parič. On the island of the park, a sound and light installation started, which responds to the socio-political situation in Slovakia. Part of the event was also an intermediate exhibition in a former gym in the park, which became a temporary gallery. Visitors could look at the works of contemporary young artists in it. The headliners of this year’s CAMP Park Symposium are renowned Slovak artists: Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) and Boris Vaitovič.

This year’s event was also enriched with the partner Bread and wine event in the manor house, organized by the Museum and Cultural Center of South Zemplín. In addition to artistic activities, visitors also enjoyed accompanying activities such as refreshment stalls, evening picnics in nature, film projection under the night sky and a wide public competition – Geocaching. The purpose of the contest is to search for a “treasure” according to GPS coordinates. On Saturday night, August 18, after the city park in Trebišov, the town park “revived” and offered to the general public visual interventions prepared for this event by young artists.

Emancipation

On 19 and 20 December, 2015 in the basement Kamper Mansion Archaeological Museum held a presentation of Emancipation (Jozef Holly – 1908). The vision of the performance is to demolish tradition held view that promote gender stereotypes and ideas about the sort of “natural” behavior of individuals based on their membership of a particular sex. The game was divided into several parts – a historical perspective, the transition, satirical utopian view in which “government” and women” absolutely demolition stereotypes “. Brno Museum Night

Brno revived during the Brno Museum Night 16. 5. 2015 TRAKT prepared by the Technical Museum in Brno two projects. Projections of contemporary Slovak video art student from 18:00 to midnight and the audience had an opportunity to become familiar with clock-section of creative videos of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica and the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University Kosice. The second project titled Audio Step demonstrated interactivity – movement – touch and sound. Visitors interactive touch and your movement they trigger sounds and noises. Small and great accounted interesting acoustic “works”.

Magic May Saturday, which invites all those interested in history, technology, art, traditions, monuments of cultural and natural heritage that according to their interest either released into the distant past of humanity and Earth itself, or granted access to the worlds naked eye invisible, or they are tuning in the language of art, much different from the normal vehicular methods capable to convey the impressions and knowledge so subtle that in the haste of everyday life remain easily neglected. That’s all offers museums, their collections, expositions and exhibitions. Some are more than a century of tradition, another has opened in a brand new or innovative form as during the past year. About all not true that they are available for five or more days a week and patiently waiting for its visitors. But once a year celebrate their own holiday, International Museum Day (May 18th), and it is a good reason to step out of the shadows and made it to recall – we are here for everyone, protecting the collections which make up a mass memory of humanity gaining their investigations, new knowledge from which to create engaging stories of our exhibitions and expositions. If you are curious and fun to meet you new things, but also to meet people who are like-minded and want to share with others, accept our invitation! Certainly discover something new, even if it does not change the essential: Gates museums, galleries and many other cultural centers in Brno and its surroundings are people of all ages opens wide open at the time of the sixth hour of the evening until midnight. Light camp

On the July 15th – 20th there was the first year of Light camp in Trebišov. It is an art symposium focused at lighting and intermedia art in public space of city park in Trebišov. It took place at Koniareň, which is contemporary art place. Cultural center was connected with nature of Trebišov´s park. Through the form of social interventions the participants could use the art of light, new medias and intermedia, site-specific strategies, soundart etc.

The aim of project (prepared by Branislav Zurko and Peter Valiska-Timečko, OZ KONTEXT) was to create works, which directly react to local specific park (it is the largest park in central Europe) or to relationship urban vs. natural environment. The lecturers were Michal Murin (FVU AU Banská Bystrica and FU TU Košice), Tomáš Žižka (MAMAPAPA and DAMU Praha) and Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT Trenčín and FVU AU Banská Bystrica).

The ambition of the project is cultural vitalization of park and areal of Museum and cultural center of South Zemplín. The output of the workshop will be presented in Koniareň´s gallery, city park and his peripheries, where the accompanying activities took place. Slovak renowned authors will also join the event, so the graduates of Academyof Art Banská Bystrica and Faculty of Technology in Košice ( Ing. doc. Michal Murin artD., PaedDr.Mgr.art. Boris Vaitovič, ArtD., Mgr.art Lukáš Matejka, Mgr.art Stanislav Piatrik, Mgr.art Juraj Sasák, Mgr.art Peter Valiska-Timečko artD. a Mgr. Workshop W3

Warhol, Workshop, War – these are the three pillars on which the workshop W3 is builted. Andy Warhol as a symbol and cooperation with the Andy Warhol ‘s Museum of Contemporary Art in Medzilaborce . The second cooperating institution is Gallery XXX – Miková 66. War represents video theme of the workshop, which participants can participate.

The topic of the war is associated with the 4th Festival of The Art Therapy. The outputs of the workshop will be presented in the form of video as well there. The organizers want to refer about countries, whose inhabitants are surviving, or have survived the threat caused by military – civil – political conflict and they want to talk about the necessity of recording these themes in art. With the theme of war they can also be accompanied some other connectivities, regarding totalitarianism, the ´89 etc. The other thematic option of this workshop is an art in public space, which is also the main theme of W3. This area of workshop is about working outside the gallery and overcoming specific barriers, it is also a great freedom and it is definitely an interesting experience. There are no limits in the art and so, if the participant selects neither the video production about the war theme, nor the creating in a public space, it offers to them a wide range of options and themes: the interpretation, the appropriation, the intervention, the citation, the readymade, the installation, the object, the video art, the experimental film, the photo-action, the video-action, the video installation, the land art, the sound art, the street art, the animation, the intermedia, the multiculturalism, the communities, the gender art, the social art…

The aim of the workshop (Oct. 22 – 25, 2009) is to expand the horizon of participants, to show the possibilities of cooperative activities and to regulate the implementing the ideas. It is important, that there is an opportunity to test some techniques and methodes of implementing, which aren’t explored by participants. The creative inspiration should be the presentations of workshops W2 Medzilaborce 2006, Stranger Žilina 2009, and others … The evening projection of DVD Video Art Project Match 1 + 2 + 3 has the motivating and relaxing nature as well.

Workshop is organized by Lukáš Matejka and Marián Kastelovič, both students of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
