The Night of Museums and Galleries 2023

The Night of Museums and Galleries is a pan-European event held under the patronage of the Council of Europe with the aim of presenting cultural heritage and the importance of its preservation and protection in cultural exchange, dissemination of information about the cultural diversity of individual countries and regions of Europe, informal education and recreation.

The activities of museums during the Night of Museums and Galleries are oriented towards activities that remain hidden from the public throughout the year. At that time, museums open their “hidden” chambers to the public and reveal secrets hidden from public view. In this way, the public can penetrate the secrets of the ‘museum kitchen’. ‘Unlocking the secrets’ also helps the public, through the knowledge and information thus gained, to better understand the importance of museums in preserving part of the cultural and natural heritage preserved in museums.

As part of the Night of Museums and Galleries event in Trencin, TRAKT will present a pair of art projects in the Atrium under the Tower and in the City Tower on 13 May.

CITY TOWER
9.00 – 23.00 LIGHT HARF | Interactive game full of light beams. Become a player and try what it is like to play on the lights.
With your movements and touches you create beautiful light curtains and melodies. This game immerses you in a world of light and music.

ATRIUM UNDER THE TOWER
21.00 – 23.00 LIGHT GRAFFITI | Do you want to become part of street art and leave your digital legacy? Put your light graffiti on the façade of the Atrium. Just press the spray nozzle and you can start creating huge works of art. What’s more, you don’t have to worry about damaging the history of the façade because it’s a digital projection.

Beast Porto: V4 Academy: Workshops on New Technologies

Visegrad Film Hub returns for its second edition within BEAST IFF 2019. This year, the V4 accademy takes a look at the new technologies and new ways of sotrytelling with a programme that is proposing an extensive list of parallel events such as talks, masterclasses and workshops, bringing together a great pool of audivisual entushiasts and field professionals. The idea behind the workshops program is to give access to new learning possibilities at the border of film and technology, using specific tools such as creative coding, argumentative light and interactive technologies as narrative device in diverse forms.

Video mapping is a part of evolution of visual art indicating manifestation of visual art and technology to create an optical illusion using the game with light. As a conclusion, ordinary objects are changed into awesome magical creations. Artists can simply apply their majestics sketches to any 3D materials, for example buildings. In cooperation with the TRAKT from Slovakia, workshop intends to give the participants an overview of the different possibilities to create a live installation wrapping projected virtual content around a real world object.

During the 2 days workshop, the students will get to work with specific software to create a projection mapping project. This workshop is intended for participants who want to learn how to develop projection mapping projects for future events, art installations, and performances.

Digital graffiti in Trnava

Even graffiti on the Trnava Town Hall building, Peter Bročka, the Mayor of Trnava, is already looking forward to it. As a small tasting before the Festival of Light and Shadow 2019 – Trnava we bring you the opportunity to spray the town hall with digital graffiti. You get a spray in your hands, squeeze the nozzle, and there the similarity to the classic spraying techniques ends because:

-> You will spray to places where only Spiderman or unknow on the platform.

-> You will make paintings as big as an elephant.

-> You will not damage the historical facade, because it is a digital projection.

TRAKT brings you this FREE experience at the Light and Shadow Festival. See you on Friday 30.8.2019 and 13.9.2019 in Trnava after dark.

Mysterious Levoca 2019

Levoča summer is traditionally rich in cultural and social events. After the popular Levočská pilgrimage at the beginning of the summer holidays, locals, but not only them, can prepare for the next upcoming event. Every year the town pays tribute to the phenomenal work of the carpenter from Levoča, the altar in the Basilica of Sts. James. The City Cultural Center in Levoča, under the leadership of its director, Zuzana Kamenická, covers the preparations every year and takes over the patronage of this grand event, which is traditionally attended by thousands of visitors. Otherwise it will not be this summer and the celebration will culminate in the form of the festival Mysterious Levoca 2019.

TRAKT will present a project triptych in the form of video mapping at the Town Hall, interactive project “Levočské graffiti” and last but not least a magical laser harp at the event from 16th to 17th August 2019. Spectators are therefore looking forward to.

Revived walls

Interactive light installations linking past and present. This is the project of the revitalized TRACT workshop. Nightly uncovering photographs from the archive from the 70-year history of the Jozef Gregor Tajovský Theater in Zvolen and the history of the City of Zvolen. After three nights, the interactive light spray in the hands of visitors will revive the past on the facades of three buildings in the center of Zvolen. The darkness of the JGT Theater (June 9, 2019), the Old Town Hall (June 11, 2019) and the Zvolen Castle (June 21, 2019) will come alive.

Light melody

Audiovisual show Light melody combines digital artwork with electronic music – remixed by Dj DayD. The project introduces new multimedia technologies – digital graffiti developed by artists from the civic association TRAKT and software program vvvv, which has been specially designed to draw light on the computer.

This method will create a thematic story inspired by a selection of songs with different genres. The aim of the performance is to bring the general public to the development of new digital artistic tools used in the direction of visual music.

The project will take place at EMÓCIA Gallery & Caffe Club in Žilina and is a part of his diploma thesis in Drawing and Audiovisual Arts for the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Granada, Spain.

Family silver

Family Silver – this is the title of the Opening Ceremony of the City of Culture 2019. The City of Culture Pilot Project was launched by the Fund for the Promotion of Art. The winner of the final trio, which consisted of the cities Nové Zámky, Spišská Nová Ves and Banská Štiavnica, became the last one mentioned, and thus Banská Štiavnica.

Preparations for the Banská Štiavnica Project Concept 2019: Identity Renovation moved further and the program started on January 19, 2019 at 17:00. TRAKT with videodocumentation and an interactive digital project based on the graffiti principle was there. Graffiti in the hands of a handsome boy Vojtík uncovered a 100-year group photo of the communities in the region of Banská Štiavnica. The whole program “Almazia” continued in the premises of the Cultural Centre.

The National Day celebrations in Saudi Arabia

During the National Day celebrations in Saudi Arabia, a light show was held in the city of Jeddah. The show was attended by our member Patrik Kubizna. TRAKT, in cooperation with the Slovak company 3APES, has prepared the Digital Graffiti project for the magnificent event. They were projected at the Hilton Hotel which is located by the seaside promenade.
The light show was held from September 21 to September 24, 2018, each evening after dark from 19:00 to 1:30.

Nearly 1300 people tried their hand at the digital graffiti from the TRAKT workshop. The digital graffiti represented one of the main interactive installations.

In Saudi Arabia, such an interactive installation is unparalleled and it was a great attraction for the general public of all ages. For TRAKT, it was again new international experience.Digital graffiti had never been projected on such a large area yet. Overall, we used eight FULL-HD projectors to produce the light. This was the first time TRAKT presented their artistic work on the Asian continent and they successfully presented the current digital art / new media art.

Element digital graffiti

4 elements have been organically grown for 20 years with the public space of Banská Štiavnica. The celebration of this connection was also an interactive installation that allowed visitors of 4 elements and random passers-by to combine elements from the graphical identities of each vintage of 4 elements and to create their own temporary light installation directly in the public space in the center of Banská Štiavnica.

Interactive installation – Element digital graffiti – Intermediate artists Pavol Soukal and Lukáš Matejka from the civic association TRAKT have decided to realize on the basis of the need to bring current trends of contemporary art among the general public. Designer sprays, produced by 3D printing, have a small LED indicator instead of the dye. They are watched by an unobtrusive camera system that allows you to interact to produce accurate color image light. It is projected on the facade of the building. The viewer himself becomes an artist – a creative creator who draws, paint, spray on buildings. Graffiti inherently belongs to the color of the urban environment, whether in positive or negative form. In the case of Digital Digital Graffiti, there will be a small celebration of the 20th anniversary of the festival, as well as an invitation to the 4th Festival of Light and Shadow, organized by TRAKT in Banská Bystrica on September 21 and 22, 2018.
