The creative photography and film competition with an educational stay in Slovakia in 2024 is an educational activity supporting the creative potential of children of Slovaks living abroad. The creative industry accounts for significant percentages in economic development at the national, European and global levels. It is about acquiring new practical skills in photography, animation, short film and related creative segments. The activity is primarily aimed at children from primary and secondary schools, vocational schools and grammar schools. Static and moving image has gradually made its way from conventional digital cameras and camcorders to mobile phones, giving it a new language and form as well as universal accessibility. These new mobile forms offer a more easily accessible space for the development of digital creativity, invention and imagination.

Luminography corner

Luminography, or light painting, is a technique that involves the use of a moving light source in long exposures in photography. In collaboration with partner TRAKT, the festival invites everyone to the playful Luminography Corner in Porto (OKNA Cultural Centre – Rua da Igreja de Cedofeita 27), where you can discover a different approach to capturing movement. Regardless of your age, you can use moving lights such as flashlights, fluorescent lights, light brushes, or even your mobile device, to “paint” with light and create a single image that expresses movement.

V4 Academy: Video Mapping Workshop

The goal is to give the participants a chance to really create something while understanding the basic principles of mapping. We want them to understand the most basic methods on which more extensive mapping can be later built. It is an extraordinary opportunity for them to get some know-how.

The basic concept of the workshop is preparation of mapping on a building in Porto (Portugal) that had been chosen in advance. The idea is discovering new creative techniques, software skills are secondary. The mapping lessons will take place via call, 4 times a month, always at a regular time. There, the participants of the workshop will learn something new and will progress. Ranging from theoretical foundation to implementation.

Film workshop 2

TRAKT citizens association has already organized a second workshop dedicated to film.

The students at the School of Applied Arts in Trenčín studied the ins and outs of short feature films. During 2 online meetings, they had a chance to get familiarized with literature and director preparation for a feature film. This part of the workshop was arranged by Martin Velič, a television screenwriter and a director who has worked on various film projects, in cooperation with Peter Bebjak, for example.

As decided by the organizers of the workshop, the whole lecture was shot and prepared in advance at the Fleck coworking premises in Trenčín. The lectures may be used as a study material for future students.

The theoretical part was followed by the practical part where the students created mood boards. With the help of this kind of visual presentation, they communicated their own author intent towards the production of their own audiovisual piece of work – Self-portrait.

After presenting their mood boards, they began shooting the scenes in their own environment so they could depict their personalities in the best way possible. “It was important that the participants analyzed their own personalities because it was them who were the main characters of their own artwork.” says Patrik Kubizna, the organizer of the workshop.

The shot scenes were consulted with the students from The Audiovisual Arts Studio of Tomas Bata University in Zlín after the first week of shooting. The university students consulted the high schoolers on the upcoming audiovisual artworks in 3 meetings during 2 weeks.

The final discussion took place on Tuesday, 15^th of December, and Juraj Ondruš, Senior Video Editor in Bumerang film productions who was a part of it, gave feedback on the created artworks whose theme was a self-portrait. “The self-portraits were diverse, and their different forms of presentation caught my attention. Some of them would even succeed at admittance tests to universities specializing in film” says Juraj Ondruš praising the work of workshop participants.

The citizens association TRAKT has decided to present the participants´ artworks in their online gallery. “We are very happy that the students succeeded in creating interesting author artworks under difficult conditions caused by the coronavirus.”

Interactive experiential educational event at the Regional Cultural Center in Prievidza, focused on the life and activities of Milan Rastislav Štefánik. The aim is to bring one of the most important personalities of our history closer to pupils and students. How? In an unconventional – experiential way, through their own activities. The area of augmented reality was covered by Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) and Peter Marcinov.

Augmented reality on a smartphone or tablet will reveal to children and visitors to the exhibition about MR Štefánik areas and topics such as astronomy, aviation, politics – rhetoric, communication, military science – World War I, its course, Stefanik’s participation in it, travel – getting to know countries etc.

Beast Porto: V4 Academy: Workshops on New Technologies

Visegrad Film Hub returns for its second edition within BEAST IFF 2019. This year, the V4 accademy takes a look at the new technologies and new ways of sotrytelling with a programme that is proposing an extensive list of parallel events such as talks, masterclasses and workshops, bringing together a great pool of audivisual entushiasts and field professionals. The idea behind the workshops program is to give access to new learning possibilities at the border of film and technology, using specific tools such as creative coding, argumentative light and interactive technologies as narrative device in diverse forms.

Video mapping is a part of evolution of visual art indicating manifestation of visual art and technology to create an optical illusion using the game with light. As a conclusion, ordinary objects are changed into awesome magical creations. Artists can simply apply their majestics sketches to any 3D materials, for example buildings. In cooperation with the TRAKT from Slovakia, workshop intends to give the participants an overview of the different possibilities to create a live installation wrapping projected virtual content around a real world object.

During the 2 days workshop, the students will get to work with specific software to create a projection mapping project. This workshop is intended for participants who want to learn how to develop projection mapping projects for future events, art installations, and performances.

The Faculty of Socio-Economic Relations of the Alexander Dubcek University in Trencin, in cooperation with Tomas Bata University in Zlín, will host the opening ceremony of the exhibition of non-profit organizations on 10:00 April at 10:00 am in the TnUAD Student Center. There will also be a TRAKT civil association.

They can present their activities to the general public at the exhibition of non-profit organizations of the whole Trenčín Self-governing Region and thus highlight and highlight the importance of the non-profit sector. The project is associated not only with the exhibition itself, but mainly with a number of workshops and accompanying events for both the general public and the professional public.

Suomi: Hollo and Martta

Art group „Kamaráti“ (Friends) will represent Slovak dance and musical folklore at the 16th international folklore festival Hollo and Martta. Hollo and Martta is one of the three CIOFF festivals of adult folklore groups in Finland. It takes place in the southern part of the country, in the towns Lahti and Hollola. The festival includes various dance, musical, singing performaces, dance workshops and other activities. The art group Kamarát consists of dancers and musicians with long term experience in the most valuable Slovak folklore groups. The group represents Slovakia in many various folklore events in Slovakia and around the world.

Citizens´ association TRAKT represents the art group Kamaráti organizationally. This project has been supported using public funds provided by the Slovak Arts Council.

Multifestival 2018: Move of the skeleton

With the support of the Arts Support Fund, the City of Trenčín and the Trenčianska Foundation, the third follow-up of the Children’s Festival under the new name Multifestival took place on June 26, 2018. The name of the festival changed based on the feedback we received. We have learned that children of elementary school no longer feel like children, so we have chosen to change the name of the festival in order to maintain the attractiveness and multi-genre.

The theme of the 3 rd year was a dance with the subtitle: Move of the skeleton. The program was played in the interior and exterior of the Hvězda cinema in Trenčín. The first part consisted of a presentation section, where various dance groups appeared, representing a wide range of styles and types of dance. The current dance was represented by experienced performer Martina Vargová from Trnava, Hip hop presented dance group LT – Len dance from Nová Dubnice, folk dance – local Trenčan Folklore ensemble, social dance – MS Dance, and the penetration between dance and martial art represented by the band – Abadá Capoeira. The live performances of the dancers were divided by two blocks of short video cards, animations and movies. The whole program was moderated by young talented moderator Renata Iršová from Trenčín. At the end of the “static” section, the children were divided freely into four groups for hip-hop, contemporary dance, folk dances and an attractive, accompanying program from KC Activities. It has actually come to the movement on one’s own skin and to the basic elements of dance styles, or various movement and dance-related activities. Interestingly, Martinina Varga’s workshop was the most successful of the world from the least known form – contemporary dance.

Among the strengths of the festival, we can certainly advise on the feedback of performers and spectators, an excellent organization, also contributed by five volunteers led by Mgr. art. Štefan Oliš (Simona Lengvarská, Ivana Juríčková, Tereza Repková, Boris Mozola and Kristína Mošková) as well as the traditional part of KC Activities. It can be said that everything was clapping and walking as watches and we are more sorry about the number of participants who moved (in smaller numbers than a year ago) about 400 children. We already know that we have much more programmatic as well as spectator potential. In this respect, we want to develop even more activity, set the right strategy and get stable young participants.

The Idea of the Festival to Mediate and Present to Children and Youth under the Castle of Matúš Čáka The different genres of culture, art and creativity (2016: The Film World, 2017: Open Studio, 2018: Skeleton of the Skeleton) is conceptually fulfilled. We are glad that we have spent the organizational part. Thus, the Multifestival continues its full-fledged trend and continues to develop its tradition. Art in park – pixelation workshop

In the park environment, various accompanying activities were also prepared during the four days of the festival. Inspirational discussions, PARK MARKET, with fresh cut, were handled by craftsmen from Elite Barber. You could work with Lucky and Maťom with your own weight, learn to breathe properly and use the center of your body. The original piece of clothing was designed with the help of a workshop from Žabka. You could even become part of your own movie thanks to the Pixelation workshop from the creative guys from TRAKT. A commentary on the city tour brought the C20: Trenčianske Teplice Architecture Guide and the Off Season. The program also included a tour of the students’ final work in Trenčín – a garment designed by Veronika Kostková. Relaxation in the chillout zone of the park complemented the festival gastro zone.

The ART IN PARK festival came in different age categories – children, young people and adults were involved and they all created a great atmosphere full of joy and well-being! More than 4,380 viewers watched the film, Dubcek was most attracted to the movie theater, and became the most popular film of the Ciarra triler in the open-air screening. The ART IN PARK festival also enjoyed great reactions, and on Facebook’s social network, the videos from the festival had more than 18,000 views.
