The pre-Christmas festival of Christmas under the castle brought Christmas concerts during the third weekend of the weekend, the children’s theater, the christmas candy and the light projection from the TRAKT atelier at the Municipal tower. The rustic mishmash was an unusual combination of Ruthenian folklore and classical music, or Balkan rhythms, offered by Rusen Cendes Orchestra on Saturday night. The Saturday program closed Celeste Buckingham’s youngest pop-music star with his court band King Shaolin. Lovers of good food enjoyed the Christmas turtle bunch by the Trenčín folklorists. The Sunday program opened the original saddle Gothic in the Vrbovské vŕby. Carols and trains to Trencin from under Inovec brought Selčan and Selčianka. The Christmas Song Story of Glamor Princesses Tones and Fonts was given by Harry Teater. In the afternoon, the showers presented Horná Nitra – Háječek and the vocal group of glass with their acapella concerts. The main star of this year’s program were exceptional musicians with temperament in the blood of Gypsy diabols. Their concert in the background completes our projection called “Embroidered Tower”.

The project, in a playful way, explains the history of probably the first emoticon of the “smiley” in the world that originated in Trenčín. What is a smiley? A simple pictogram that evaluates something, most often positive or negative. Youth recognizes the symbol from the social network environment. Following the positive experience of previous projects – Digital Graffiti, Sobie, Digital City, we have decided to continue creating digital “games” designed specifically for the public space of Trenčín – designed on the facades of historic buildings.

Temporary intervention from the TRAKT workshop (software realization by Pavol Soukal) addresses and involves the participation of random viewers, mostly youth – passers-by, who so often come into contact with contemporary visual arts for the first time. This type of art of the local gallery, especially due to lack of technological background, reflects very little. The public space has been crowded by numerous and active audiences. An author’s digital project is promoted through common available gaming devices – wii, kinect, gamepad, which serve as modulated technology tools for direct interaction with the viewer. We are interested in works and interactions that directly communicate with the viewer and draw it into context.

Unique interactive graphic design of the city of Trenčín from the 17th century.

Working with local historical references, contemporary digital design and personal mysticism built on the story of the “Trencian Smiley” is a clear idea of the project. The resulting form of work has identified a creative creative process, brainstorming and work with historical material found in a new context – the facade of the building. Interactive art opens new possibilities for unreal game engine (blender game engine) for Trenčín’s youth.

The project was carried out on two Saturday evenings on August 26 and December 2, 2017 and was supported by the grant system of the city of Trenčín. We thank you.

The light and shadow festival in Banská Bystrica in 2017 marked the striking and growing interest of the broad and professional public about contemporary multi-gen art. The mass scene backdrop surpassed the organizers’ expectations several times despite the cold and unfavorable weather. The festival was attended by young artists and secondary students (Central School of S. Mikovina B.Štiavnica) and high art schools (Academy of Arts BB, VŠMU Bratislava) from the fields of digital art, new media art, performance art, video art and photography. The space was given to contemporary dance, music composers and producers, stage designers, choreographers and light designers. The theme of the festival’s program was a reflection of global social phenomena such as ecological behavior, sport and lifestyle, space and man. The Festival of Light 2017 prepared a public presentation of both static and dynamic light art, giving a new dimension to the urban architecture of historic and modern buildings as the only light festival in the Slovak Republic to present young visual artists from Slovakia, and Ukraine.

The festival in Banská Bystrica is an artistic project that approaches the general public of contemporary art forms as well as untraditional, unrecognized and significant localities in the city. The festival expanded buildings in the central city area: at the Štefan Moyzes Nautical Museum, the castle walls and the Barbican, the SNP Square, the Tatra banka, the passage to the Slovak Forest, the engine room of the fountain. Both the artists and the public have once again attracted popular facade factions such as the Museum of SNP and Europa SC. Spaces at Barbakane, CNK Garden, Chaviva Reik Garden, Radnice Square, Lazov Street, Theater Theater, Theater Theaters. Dance shows based on the principle of working with a visual light object applied directly to the actor and dancer. The festival presented a complete retrospective of the performance of the unique Banská Bystrica Theater from the passage displayed on the facade of the theater building.

In its third year, the Festival of Light and Shadow presented 23 visual art projects and 7 accompanying events. The streets attracted only 5,000 spectators at the opening of the festival on September 22 at 19:30. As a result, more people were added to the program until 23:00. Saturday, September 23, went in the same scenario. Altogether, light artworks of the 3rd year of the festival attracted more than 25,000 inhabitants and visitors to the city.

The main program of the festival presented:

5 videomapping as outputs from site-specific projects by domestic and foreign artists expressing current topics such as Banská Bystrica European City of Sport 2017, Ecological Behavior, Universe and Man

7 static light objects,

3 moving visualizations used before and during the festival as a invitation,

3 interactive lighting installations in the interiors and facades of buildings,

5 shows of contemporary dance connected with new media at various localities of the city.

The organizers included the accompanying events of the festival:

an exhibition of photographs of members of the Union of Blind and Visually Impaired Slovakia under the title The Way of Light,

workshop luminography,

workshop led technologies and fiber optic, organized by LEDeco solution,

observation of the night sky with viewers of the Municipal Observatory and Planetarium J. M. Hella,

light drink in selected restaurants,

cars with the logo The European City of Sports in a Jet of Changing Light,

Searching for a beater, a mascot of the festival,

and the joint opening of the Festival of Light and the European Week of Sport by the Mayor of the City, the Ambassadors and the Mascot of the Festival.

The two-day festival supported the development of tourism in the city, as well as hundreds of foreign visitors in the streets of the city. A new feature of this year’s festival was the involvement of selected restaurants and cafes, which ensured the promotion of the festival with its offer called Light Lamp, on the one hand, and higher revenues for the operations themselves. The city of Banská Bystrica contributed to the festival in addition to the financial amount in the field of promotion and creation of conditions for transport logistics and protection of works of art.

Organizers of the 3rd year were the “Cultural Slovakia”, TRAKT and Banská Bystrica. Co-organizers – SNP Museum, LEDECo s.r.o., Cover Energy Via MRG s.r.o., PR and Communications Agency Essence Communications, Creative Association, Miobit.

The Festival from public funds was supported by the Arts Support Fund, financially supported by the Banskobystrický samosprávny kraj and the town of Banská Bystrica. The festival of contemporary visual arts could not be organized only from public sources. The private companies have contributed greatly to its progress as well as to supporting young artists. Thanks to Europa SC a.s., Stredoslovenská vodárenská provozní společnost, a.s., Slovmas, s.r.o., Lunter and Regional Tourism Organization of Central Slovakia. In today’s difficult times, support for creative young artists is a unique achievement.

During the extended weekend of 15th – 17th September 2017, a digital nomad workshop was held in the premises of the Central Art School in Trencin. Students from the Central Art School Trenčín and from Ludovít Štúr School in Trenčín met together for the first time on Friday, September 15 at 9:00. The workshop was successfully launched by Pavol Paulenda from the Triad Advertising advertising agency. After learning each other, Pavol Paulenda went on to the first pages of the presentation where he introduced students to the world of contemporary and modern advertising. In the first part they learned all about the brand. Since the workshop program was set up to interconnect the theoretical and practical part, the students immediately went to work. Student’s brand in each school is made up of the Student Council, so it should define and determine what the students’ board means and what is its role.

A good lunch followed an introduction to the creative process. Students have learned how a creative process works in an advertising agency. Pavol Paulenda showed them the individual team members at Triad Advertising and their specific tasks. After completing the lecture they started their own creative process. They identified what the Student Council product is, where presentations are presented and how they can improve.

On Saturday, September 16th, the workshop began with demonstrations of successful modern advertising campaigns. He pointed to the differences between advertising in the US and the European market. Students were able to see not only the ad result, but the whole process from the creative process to the campaign evaluation. After completing this section, they focused on social networks and their use. They have learned not only how social networks can benefit in their own benefit, but also how social networks work. At the same time, they learned about which social network is the most suitable video and for which image format. Students have seen how paid advertising works, its benefits and disadvantages. Later on, during the workshop, they had the opportunity to try the paid campaign. Subsequently, Paulenda divided the students into 2 teams that worked on an advertising campaign for the Student Council of the Grammar School Ľudovít Štúr and on an advertising campaign for the Student Council of the Secondary Art School. New online rooms have been created for the SUW Student Council, where they can be advised to present and receive suggestions from students. The board has created its own Instagram, Youtube channel, Google + account, and changed the design of an existing Facebook page. A logo was created for the GDE Student Council and the students worked on a joint campaign to popularize their school counseling.

In addition to these activities, students were provided with a photographic studio and rooms equipped with computers to work on their online outlets. The students made full use of these spaces for their upcoming campaigns and, moreover, they were always available by photographer Kristina Pastorková, who helped them work with a professional photographic studio.

On Sunday 17 September, Ivan Ježík from Voices, who came to discuss how to present their work, was welcomed in the morning. He showed them basic body work, eye contact, how they should express themselves during the presentation. Additionally, students received advice on how to suppress stress when presenting or how to create a compelling presentation. These valuable advice was then used to create a joint presentation that students will present at TSK’s premises during the Presidents’ Meeting of the Student Councils of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region.

As the workshop was slowly approaching its finale, the students agreed on a joint strategic work program for the future and set clear deadlines for parts of the advertising campaign. On Sunday, at 13:00, the workshop was officially closed and students spoke. Throughout the implementation of the project there was a positive mood, which was provided by Pavol Paulenda and some members of the project. The way we looked at our workshop can also be seen in the next video.

The project was organized under the auspices of the Civil Association TRAKT. The project would not have been created without the financial support of the City of Trenčín and the EPH Foundation, thank you!

Gelnica Illumination is a multi-genre festival combining digital art, lighting installations, photography, literature and music, which took place for the first time on September 9, 2017 in Gelnica. Overall, the festival offered 10 projects from young Slovak artists, including members of TRAKT Pavol Soukal and Filip Kmeť. The Black Holes exhibition brought visitors to the underground of Miner Museum. People were given helmets and mining lights and could see photos of the forgotten cultural and industrial monuments of Spiš and Gemer. Photographs from the pubs of the Hnilec Valley were presented by Dominika Čarná at an exhibition titled Inventory. Part of the exhibition included period documents from the times of socialism. Art designer Veronika Kollárová presented her work on the exhibition Bločky. People could also try drawing on heat-sensitive paper. He was also interested in the digital graffiti project (Pavol Soukal – TRAKT), as well as projection at the Baník Museum (Ľubomír Slovinský – Zapadlý KÚT) or one of the classicist houses on Luther Square (Pavol Soukal, Filip Kmeť – TRAKT). Fans of the Spišskonovoveska formation Smola and Pears have pleased the concert of their favorite musicians. The synagogue, as well as the fate of the local Jewish community, recalled the light installation of Gabrielle Lenďák and Nora Žaludeková called In the Fire.

On the occasion of the anniversary of 720 years of the town of Valašská Mezirici (CZ), on September 15, 2017, the first Festival of Lights with Virtual Reality in the region of Moravia and Silesia took place with the participation of TRAKT in the composition of Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal. Valašské Meziříčí is a city-style celebration in the form of videomapping (a light projection) and a laser show alongside the world’s metropolises such as Prague, Berlin, Paris or New York. Virtual reality with games and entertainment animations presented the main attraction of the festival and regional uniqueness. Visitors could also enjoy the concerts of Emma Smetana, Republic of Two and Mydy Rabycad, in addition to the unique program prepared for Valmezu buildings. All the program The Light of Valmez was accessible for visitors completely free of charge. TRAKT at the festival presented an interactive digital graffiti project designed for the general public. The digital painting of the town hall was not only enjoyed by the small visitors to the festival.

Street 1 May in Trenčín in the middle of September 2017 revived the spirit of the urban market under the name Trenčín na korze. Despite the foggy and humid weather, a large number of visitors arrived to experience the renaissance of the street market. And let’s be admired to buy. In addition to buying a hand made product, whether on clothing, on food, or just on the edge, people could enjoy a great cup of coffee and a variety of other crisps. The main program was attended by different theatrical and musical groups, soloists and also lacking accompanying activities such as various art workshops and the like.

TRAKT could not miss this event. We contributed to the unparalleled installation of Happy Audio, which involved not only children but also adults. The audience had the opportunity to interact and create their own music by playing fruit and vegetables that made different sounds. Installation was a visitor, all day available, and everyone who came to KORZO appeared to touch the playing vegetables and enjoyed a pleasant, cheerful experience.
