YOUNG ART SHOW is an exhibition of modern art which gives students and graduates of domestic and foreign schools of art a space for presentation of their artwork. The exhibition offers a preview of the current Slovak and foreign art scene. YOUNG ART SHOW helps young authors to present their work. This exhibition provides an opportunity to reach and communicate with the audience. YOUNG ART SHOW also tries to educate and to arouse interest in art among the residents and visitors of Piešťany, where the exhibition will be held. Our major effort is to attract young audience and to familiarize it with the current art.

Christmas illumination of town tower

Last weekend before Christmas TRAKT with City of Trencin prepared this project for citzens. They could see large scale projection – mapping on the town tower from the main square. Author concept with christmas themes was prepared by Lukáš Matejka, Adam Siekel and Pavol Soukal. People of all generation were coming to see this extraordinary event. The aim of the project was to connect young talented students with wide public of the city and to emphasise needs for integration of their work into public space.

Workshop Activities visuality & LIVE VJ

During the project Artorium 2012 at Faculty of Dramatical Arts, Academy of Arts Banska Bystrica, the workshop Aktivity Vizuality took place. The lector was Boris Vitázek (TRAKT). The student of Academy of Fine Arts and Design Bratisalva, talented multimedial artist too, taught the proces of work in softwere VVVV. This software interface is multiple tool, which is set to be for manipulation and synthese of motion picture – video and medial space in real time. The skills with this softwere have potential to open to young multimedial and digital artists unexplored possibilities. Our goal was to motivate young people and sutdents to author´s creation thanks to help of new medias and step by step explain the principes of this artistic proces. The main aim of workshop was to support creative development of participants, their active participation in creation in this programme and to enhance their will to realize their ideas and thoughts. The parts of workshop were also evening´s projections on the facade of the Academy of Art´s building with the topic LIVE VJ as the part of visual teaser for the participants of workshop, but also for the wide public and people passing by.

Representatives of the Academy of fine Arts, took part students Matúš Astrab, Zoltán Bíro, Soňa Divékyová, Simona Halečková, Dominik Janovský, Jakub Lindiš, Lukáš Matejka, Gregor Nadzam, Adriána Vančová.

Cinema Passage

Subway station evokes the enclosed space of a small theater. This area presents an unusual student scene from the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica. The content of the videos are a variety of topics from social through minimalist interventions in public space, to gender, or just exploring your own ego. The dominant focus is on values as such nevertheless, student’s native spirit of rebellion and change the world is presented as well.

The project seeks to revive the space of the train station underpass within one day, offering video advertising format, as we are used to, but it tries to bring culture among ordinary people who travel by train every day. It focuses on a community of travelers, who are not assessed by age or social class. This particular installation in a public space is trying to bring the benefits of arts to the general audience while simultaneously is trying to improve the area where we live and remove stereotype of public space.

The project was financially supported by Healthy City Community Foundation – YouthBank magnet. The implementation of this project was made by informal group consisting of Stephen Olis, Lukas Matejka and Maria Judova, who are also part of the civic association TRAKT.

Performance workshop

Performance workshop was held in April 2012 at the High School of Art in Trencin. Instructor: Michaela Bottkova, TRAKT. Stephen Olis and Lukas Matejka were assisting within the educational and managerial part. Before the workshop has begun students have prepared concepts that presented a baseline for their activities. When the activities were developed they have been performed directly within the streets of Trencin. The arts were simple, sometimes a bit superficial, but on the other hand very creative indeed. The workshop was very inspirational because students keep bringing new ideas and creative flow which was coordinated by the lectors in order to make the ideas more concise.
