Did you hear from the elders about the amazing atmosphere of keying in 89’s? Or have you been yanking yourself? In the work of Pavel Soukal and Lukáš Matejka, you can take out the keys again and experience some of these extraordinary events. But you can’t do it alone, you’ll have to connect with other people. Exactly as in November 89. Your joint rumble will begin an interactive visual demolition of the wall projected in your city. The reward for visual demolition efforts will be to reveal unique photographs from the Velvet Revolution. Who knows, maybe you meet your parents there, or yourself thirty years ago.

The civic association TRAKT together with the Férová O2 Foundation and the Trnava Self-Governing Region prepared an audiovisual installation that will travel together with the exhibition to mark the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. Overall, the exhibition will be in seven cities within Trnava region.

How do the authors perceive November 89?

As creative artists and contemporary artists, we perceive the events of November 89 as a fusion of an active society that wanted to make a difference for all of us. This change was only possible because we, as a company, were able to connect, we were a collective hero who could not be broken on our way to freedom. Today, our society is polarized by various themes – groups – communities that often divide us out of mind. We want to show our interactive work how active and connecting people are today.

Symbolism in the work:

Demolishing a wall that reveals photos. – The symbol of an imaginary wall that surrounded our country and prevented us from seeing the truth, not only here but also abroad. The falling wall symbolizes the fall mode.
The revelation of the period photography symbolizes the revelation of truth, hope, freedom, human authenticity.
Each viewer can only tear down part of the wall, but only together they collapse the whole wall. A symbol of social change and the importance of joining for the benefit of all of us. Although I can change a small part myself, I need active people around me to change the whole.
The keys trigger the wall to fall. The keyhole has become a symbol of the Velvet Revolution, this link will allow us to illustrate the atmosphere of the moments displayed in the photographs.
“Freedom is not self-evident” – the motto complementing this work shows that the struggle for freedom never ends and never ends. Only by our activity and interest in public affairs will we guard our freedom.

The Festival of Light and Shadow 2019 in Trnava

In 2019 the Festival of Light and Shadow is expanding from the public space of Banská Bystrica to “Little Rome” to Trnava. In Trnava’s environment, the project will not offer viewers a superficial superficial lighting “show”, but will present contemporary visual and lighting art in the public space of the historical center.

Young art projects will sensitively open the theme of the union in their wide cultural and social spectrum by their ideological legacy. Projects will focus on networking, collaboration (multi-generation, multi-genre, cross-species), networking, networking, connectivity and finding new ways. The festival’s priority is to provide space for young, un-established artists from Slovakia and the European environment. The festival wants to be the engine at the start of their professional artistic career. We want to inspire, educate and entertain the general public. We promise to the public, viewers and visitors truly unusual experiences. When? 20 September 2019 after dark.

Digital graffiti in Trnava

Even graffiti on the Trnava Town Hall building, Peter Bročka, the Mayor of Trnava, is already looking forward to it. As a small tasting before the Festival of Light and Shadow 2019 – Trnava we bring you the opportunity to spray the town hall with digital graffiti. You get a spray in your hands, squeeze the nozzle, and there the similarity to the classic spraying techniques ends because:

-> You will spray to places where only Spiderman or unknow on the platform.

-> You will make paintings as big as an elephant.

-> You will not damage the historical facade, because it is a digital projection.

Lovely Experience

The gigantic Lovely Experience festival took place on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Trnava Square in Trnava. The famous names of the world’s EDM like Digitalism arrived, not even the representatives of the home ending like Inkwall, DJ EKG and Changing Faces, who played their sets directly from the balcony of Jan Palarik Theater.

The festival also took part in a ten minute show – videomapping at the Town Tower in Trnava from the TRAKT. The striking audiovisual theater pointing to the city that was the crossroads of business trips highlighted the first mention of Little Rome, celebrating Trnava’s largest and at the same time the oldest fortification in Slovakia, but did not forget to dedicate itself to the promotion of Trnava to the free royal city.

Of course, until the fourth morning, the music can not be left loud on the biggest Trnava square, so before midnight there was a silent disco format with special headphones that offered two music channels. Choosing between the intense drum’n’bass mix and the more conservative cost of house and pop music.

Santa Claus Sledding on Nicholas Square

Medieval markets in Trnava on the Nicholas Square,on Dec. 17, 2016 were enriched by interactive projection Santa Claus Sledding, made by TRAKT. This interesting project created by Pavol Soukal from our creative LAB had its premiere in Trnava. Only viewers in Trencin and Banska Bystrica were able to see a similar instalation. Interactive digital installation traditionally attracted especially children but also many adults liked it. Digital Project has traditionally put a smile on the faces of dozens, perhaps hundreds of people who visited Medieval markets in Trnava during Christmas.

TRAKT regularly conducts its visual projects in the public space with a focus on the general public. Again, it managed to bring positive mood full of laugh and joy and enrich Christmas by unusual experience.

Magic

A unique interactive project shrouded facade in the courtyard of the town hall in Trnava light, sound and abstract motifs of Christmas. Project Magic made by LAB prepared Filip Kmeť (TRAKT). An interactive “magic” projection it can be controlled without contact by moving only in the hands or fingers.

The project was launched on Friday 25 November at 17:00 hours (after dark) under the Christmas market in the courtyard of City Hall. Originally, the project to illuminate the front of the town hall but the plan was ultimately abandoned. Magic was not disturbed by light pollution and bustle of Christmas markets. Nevertheless, the Christmas markets are enriched and during one evening audience with a new dimension of enjoyment. Those who wandered into the courtyard, experienced the contemporary interactive art in public space.

Pecha Kucha Night vol.19 Trnava

Pecha Kucha Night is a platform founded in Tokio by two architects: Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham. A platform had already extended to the whole world. The main goal is to bring to an audience new thoughts by a projection and short, constructive discussion.

19th year of Pecha Kucha Night took place in the Studio of dance and movement Alegria in Trnava on Wednesday 21st September 2016. List of performers was really great: Matej Mazák: animation; Adéla Režná: illustrator; Metaformi: jewels; Martina Chudá: visual art; David Reitšpís: wood design; Anton Čierny: multimedia art; Zora Husarčíková: Fashion LIVE!; Erik Šille: painting; Jonáš Gruska: performer, sound artist; Juraj and Ivan Dudáš: visual art; Marcin Berdyszak: painting.

Pecha Kucha Night in Trnava was organized by OZ Publikum.sk with partners Gallery of Ján Koniar, Trnava region, Trnava city, Trnava-live.sk, Trnavský hlas and Bright printing company. Thank you all.

The 18th Pecha Kucha Night Trnava

TRAKT is a civil association whose aim is to promote arts and cultural activities. It has been created by Lukáš Matejka and Štefan Oliš in 2009. It has 12 members. The two founders introduced
themselves at the 18th PechaKucha Night in Koppel Villa in Trnava on 7 April 2016. PechaKucha Night Trnava was organised by OZ Publikum.sk and sponsored by the Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava, the City of Trnava, Trnavalive.sk, Trnavský hlas.sk and Bright Printing Company. PechaKucha Night was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Tokyo’s KleinDytham Architecture and quickly spread around the world. It introduces audiences to new ideas and insights by showing images. The images advance automatically and the speaker talks along to the images. The concept behind PechaKucha talks is to avoid talking too much.
