We invite you to a stop motion animation workshop on 17 November 2024 under the guidance of experienced artist Mgr. Lukáš Matejka, ArtD. Come to the Regional Cultural Centre in Prievidza to learn the techniques of creating stop motion animations – from the basics of planning and storyboarding, through the technical setup to the actual creation of the short film. The workshop is ideal for beginners and more advanced filmmakers who want to deepen their skills in this unique form of animation.

Ceremonial opening of the hall of RKC

The Regional Cultural Centre in Prievidza is a cultural institution established by the Trenčín Self-Governing Region. It operates in the upper Nitra region – in the districts of Prievidza and Partizánske. For decades, the RKC in Prievidza has been bringing quality culture accessible to all age and interest categories of addressees.

On January 24, 2024, it inaugurated the renovated main hall and TRAKT with its lighting design and projection was there.

Interactive experiential educational event at the Regional Cultural Center in Prievidza, focused on the life and activities of Milan Rastislav Štefánik. The aim is to bring one of the most important personalities of our history closer to pupils and students. How? In an unconventional – experiential way, through their own activities. The area of augmented reality was covered by Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) and Peter Marcinov.

Augmented reality on a smartphone or tablet will reveal to children and visitors to the exhibition about MR Štefánik areas and topics such as astronomy, aviation, politics – rhetoric, communication, military science – World War I, its course, Stefanik’s participation in it, travel – getting to know countries etc.

National Centre of Culture on behalf of the Ministry of Culture announced for the year 2014 the 22nd year of national competition and exhibition of amateur films CINEAMA 2014. National round will held 6.-8. June 2014 at Film and Television Faculty VŠMU in Bratislava. The competitive films from the regional rounds were judged by the professional jury composed of Ľubomír Patsch (Liptovský Hrádok), Jana Rengecičová (Liptovský Mikuláš) a Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT, Trenčín). The projection of the films, also the evaluation took place on April the 10th 2014 in Regional Culture Centre in Prievidza.

Based on the recommendation of the jury were to the national round sent the films by Vanda Masiariková (Feature Film + Main Prize), Peter Sihelský (videoclip), Martin Valenta (document) and Andrej Danócz (experimental film).

14th conference about of the tourism

On March 27th, Marek Janičík and Lukáš Matejka (the members of TRAKT) attended 14th Conference of tourism in Prievidza called „Po toku Nitry“. Representatives of civic association TRAKT held at this conference short lecture about the new possibilities in tourism promotion. They focused mainly on new forms of promotional materials, more modern graphics, viral and promo videos. The aim of the lecture was to inform the public and people who deal with tourism to achieve the greatest success with propagation of their hotels, museums and hostels. And they wanted them to know to distinguish quality work of graphics from non-quality. The members of TRAKT decided for this lecture because of the fact, that the associations, organizations or entrepreneurs at tourism often pay big money for poor quality promo material. Sometimes in makes even anti-advertising. Often, the potential which the hotel or museum has, is not used. The lecture of the TRAKT members had therefore great importance and we look forward, that the interest about it was really big.

Workshop animation & vj

During the Christmas time, 14th of December 2013 was held animation and VJ workshop in the foyer of the Regional Cultural Centre in Prievidza, under the professional guidance of Matej Mazák and Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT). Workshop participants (workshop was focused on the non-professional) learned the history of VJ and animated film and they also got basic overview of these exciting creative techniques. The second part was focused on practical form of education. Participants tried out stop-motion techniques, or work in editing software and create their first own film work.

In the process, Prievidza

There is a path that precedes the creation of a single art. Mostly, this process is called formation or creation process. It is an activity of artists, creators, reaching some goal. The result is an art as such, in any form or format. The process of creation is an integral part of the work. Despite of this fact the concept of this exhibition called “The process” aims to separate the process of creating of the output.

The reason for this separation is simple – to draw attention to process creation, the artist’s path to the goal. Artworks attention is attaching to automatically and continuously, the process of creation is often somewhere in the background, or is mediated only through a kind of story of the work. Therefore it draws attention primarily to control the outcome. Many times the way of creation of the art is as least fascinating as the work itself and in some cases it is even way more important than the work, the outcome itself. Visual artist love his work, his path, process of creation, drafting ideas. For the artist, the creating process is very important.

The concept of the exhibition focuses on the process of formation and attention refers to the process of creation. The exhibition was composed of photos, videos, objects, artifacts, notes. It is a form of documentation as appealing as some form. Selection is trying to take the viewer visually and content. Mostly, the documentation was remained in the background, unknown for the audience, remains forever only in the form of legends. Another aspect involved in the process is the rawness of the record. As the attention relates primarily to the result of the art, the creation process is being rarely documented. If yes, it is usually very authentic without any further effects interference and very authentic.
The exhibition called “in process” offers a different perspective to the way of creating art and it tries to be separated from the authentic video performance record.
