At the end, we met at the Municipal Office, where a varied programme awaited us. The Fokoš mining choir brought us an unforgettable musical experience, along with speeches, video-mapping on the Municipal Office building and folk music by the Majer family. The name NOCTURNO comes from the word “nocturne” which means night music or instrumental piece played outdoors, for example as a serenade. The night during NOCTURNO should also be a kind of composition, a beautiful music of visual art. 30 July will be in the spirit of light projections and installations, in the former botanical garden built by the writer Gustáv Kazimír Zechenter-Laskomerský near his house.

During the event, artworks by artists such as Palo Truben, Lukáš Matejka (Martina Vargová collaboration), Tomáš Tulis, Tomáš Eniac Cíger, Ivana Laila Drobná and others will shine. The light installations will be complemented by a rich accompanying programme for children, screening of short films, night chilling with the band Chill on the sun, as well as a movement performance performed by the Dance Studio from Banská Bystrica.

The title “NOCTURNO” comes from the word “nocturno” which is a translation for night music or instrumental music that is played outside, as for example a serenade. The night during the NOCTURNO should also be like a song, a beautiful music of visual arts.

Artists like Arter Eniac from Kremnica, who has created a lot of graphics for the city, artists from the civic association TRAKT with their piece of work entitled Strom slov (Tree of Words) created by Lukáš Matejka and Štefan Oliš in cooperation with Alexandra Rychtarčíková and Viktor Vilkovský and a piece of work entitled Modrá planéta (Blue planet) by Štefan Oliš, artist Ivana Laila Drobná, Ové Pictures art group or a group of young architects will be presented. The programme is going to be accompanied by a lecture dedicated to the history of Zechenter garden, a Andy Switch concert or a movement performance by students of the Department of Dance Creation of the Academy of Performing Arts.

Strom slov (Tree of Words) (2021)

Site – specific digital installation entitled Strom slov reflects the history of Zechenter garden in Kremnica and, at the same time, opens up the themes of ecology, climate or history and of a relationship between people and the nature. The installation consists of sound projection on a specific branch of tree which transforms into a 3D talking head. This sexless face of an “avatar” tells a fictional story with the support of historical events which is connected to the specific place and to the specific chosen tree. A once-in-a-lifetime experience with elements of surrealistic supernatural overlap is thus created.

Modrá planéta (Blue planet) (2021)

Short, but that much powerful videoprojection is a conceptual work of art that is broadened by a certain illustrative idea of an artist. The projection is strongly focused on the current issues of climate change and its aspects. It primarily bets on the subject matter of the work of art and its main idea. The goal is to “shake” the spectator and leave them with an emotion worth thinking over.

In this case, we addressed students and teachers of the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica, namely the Intermedia and digital media students. As a visiting pedagogue and lector in one person we introduced Ján Adamove who acts at this department as a pedagogue and proffesional lecturer. Our unit was consisted of 16 students and pedagogues alltogether. Commanding and organizational group consisted of Professor Lubo Stacho and me was joined by the doctoral student Lenka Lukačovičová on our side and doctoral student Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) on the side of Banska Bystrica spectrum. We agreed on three assignments that were built on different principles, and should respond to all students, regardless of whether they have experience with the specific lecturer of assignment or just taste and a duty to respond.

3. Marko Horban – Mimicry (video performance)

The first night willingly and enthusiastically came present his author´s and art history experience Michal Murin, who besides being the leading digital media studio at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, admirably manages the archive and representation of slovak musicologist and artist Milan Adamčiak. It was also because we had planned personally visit mr. Adamčiak in the adjacent village of Banska Bela and record where he lives and eagerly awaits raids Kunst-tourism. Author´s lectures and presentations we had almost every night and there was still something to show not only on the side of pedagogues, but also at student´s side in their portfolio, which has been extremely beneficial and discovering for all involvedand discover for all concerned. After agreement we decided to publish the results and outcomes of creative efforts and intentions of our and invited students of this workshop on the web page and in the second edition of ALF as a DVD attachment. Extending this cooperation on joint activities in the field of creative and stay camps adds another dimension to this cooperation and we believe that such connections have meaning.Participation in the workshop I personally judged to be a test not only for the lower grades of students who become familiar with the operation and philosophy of the studio, but also for the pedagogue is very important to observe the interactivity and social status of the student outside of the school territory. In parallel with this observation it was interesting to watch the activity of the invited parties, for which this was, I believe, just as motivating as instructive. This workshop took place essentially without problems, not to be an exciting evening with preventive trip of emergency health services and persistently rainy autumn weather, as if we were there only one day. But this is only a subtle game of our memory, which is fortunately selective and retains only things that are worth not to be forget.
