The idea of the ATOPIC contemporary dance performance is the theme of atopic in relation to itself and influencing the mental state based on the diagnosis of “atopic exema”.

poNOIR is a contemporary dance performance. Merging into one whole. Convergence, unification into one body, soul and thus create symbiosis. Continuity, continuity, continuity…. All that will immerse us in depth and bring us a diverse view of the reality that changes right before our eyes.

A unique fusion of two contemporary dance projects will take place:

Miriama Kardosova will present a series of small-format paintings in the Sopa Gallery. These paintings represent a post-process output of semi-improvised private events. Painting as a medium remains the basic means of expression. Performance is the equivalent of expression, gesture, and musical expression which Kardošová applies also to the painting medium. By combining the performance sketch, the movable (digital) image with the commodity of the hanging image as the final and material artefact, the author achieves a synergetic effect. Kardošová primarily focuses on the topics that touch still unexplored aspects of body and flesh, own ontology and Alter Ego, which she explores through visual culture, different social stereotypes or gender positions.

Miriama Kardošová (1988) is a representative of the young generation of Slovak painting. She graduated from Art studio (contemporary art) program at the Faculty of Arts in Košice and from the Studio of intermedia art program under the guidance of doc. ak. mal. Jiří David at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

The exhibition was supported from public sources by the Arts Support Fund. The Arts Support Fund is the main partner of the project.

Opening of the exhibition: February 21, 2019 at 7.00 pm
The exhibition will take place: February 22, 2019 – March 15, 2019
Curator: Miroslav Kleban

Lukáš Matejka (TRAKT) participated his own projections on the international project Equinox. Equinox is the result of a two-year cycle of creative stays in France, Mexico, Hungary and Slovakia. It is a multidisciplinary international performance experimenting with the boundaries of ourselves, with little-crossed forms such as classical and contemporary dance, opera, contemporary classical music, theater, video art and animation.

Kafka’s “America” and “Lock” novels served as the subject of the project, as were the stories of illegal immigrants leaving today from Mexico to the United States. The atmosphere is based on Karol Beff’s original musical work, which won the title of Best French Composer in 2013. Directed by the French director and artistic director of Euroculture Laurent Festas. The introduction of the Equinox was premiered in the summer under the Marseille – Provence 2013 program.

The basic idea of WIRE 2017 is to stimulate socially responsible research and digitization innovations for regional development and to understand its societal impact by exploiting synergies between different EU policies to promote economic, social and territorial cohesion. In other words, understand and stimulate the positive social and economic impact of digital research and innovation on the EU’s regions and its people and build a creative, social and trusted region.

TRAKT, composed of Mgr. art. Lukáš Matejka, ArtD. and Pavol Soukal prepared for the conference participants an interactive installation of Folklore graffiti with a reference to Slovak folk symbolism using the new media art.

Creativity for innovation

Science, technology and art are becoming a very promising area for creating new unexpected innovations or for achieving the success of the innovation process. They offer different approaches to inspiring inspiration or managing innovation. Free “creative” art that is motivated not by commercialization but by internal stimuli to provide unmistakable studies or emotional touching faces. Often these technologies create or inspire unexpected solutions to industrial or everyday problems. On the other hand, commercial approaches consist of very different areas, Sound and visual performances – performances for more intense experiences of customers, viewers, visitors in business areas (museums, shopping centers, etc.). They are used in a variety of industries such as retail, health, culture, Applied creative art helps build confidence or a positive mood in innovation through a new design, inspiring atmosphere, or unexpected end-user experience that can be a decisive factor in successful innovation in the regions and between people. E.g. Social business gamatization as one of the new sectors with a variety of game mechanics creates new types of user experience that drive real engagement. It is the art of social science that facilitates the desired behavior of all stakeholders or end-users that can be used in various commercial processes. The synergy of this sector with different areas of research and technological development can bring significant societal impact to projects or initiatives in the field of research and innovation. That is why WIRE2017 wants to build on creativity and inspiration, and to support the potential of science, technology and arts and creative industries to achieve genius loci, enhance synergy between artists, creative people and technologies, stimulate inspiration and enhance value, and embrace digital innovation, build trust and positive sentiments Communities of end users and promoting Slovak creatives with inspirational installations based on Slovak tradition – White Night events.

Two artist from TRAKT art group – Lukáš Matejka and Pavol Soukal – prepared an interactive project called Dark Matter Spray for DIG gallery in Košice. Dark Matter Spray is inspired by project Digital Graffiti. A software is using hybrid programming environment VVVV, which can connect and control digital actions with a real environment. A spray is using infrared technology and participant can create “digital dark matter” on the projection of the universe. The idea of Dark Matter Spray was initiated by college pedagogue Michal Murin.

„The animation is reviving lifeless – teachers were learning us this formula all school long. It means the animator gives life to drawings, material or objects. I took it literally,“ Matej Mazák said.

Revived is the stuff, which we see everyday but we hardly notice it – this is the reason, they need our attention and they want to be seen at least the one night a year. Mail box which is nowadays hardly used, old ticket machine which is used for sticking posters or Bratislava´s „periscops“ which are too nice to be forgot on the car park…

The passion of Matej Mazák from TRAKT is reviving lifeless. He likes to imagine what do trash cans think about in the night and he also likes to make up cartoon things which he concerns as alive as he is. Matej attended seven years of animation studies in Ostrava and there he was also a teacher for a short time. Currently he works as graphic designer for-hire wherever is he needed for example in Pixel Federation, Lokal Filmis or „Star Taxi“. In his spare time, Matej work on his own cartoon.

Due to animations Matej revived objects in public places on White Night 2016 in Bratislava and Košice.

During the last October week visual team from Hopes and Memories project took a place in Košice, in east part of Slovakia. Artist from TRAKT and Mamapapa met there for three days and they focused on artistic creation of unique beamvertising projection, which was developed and screened in the night streets of Kosice last day of residency. Artists were during 48 hours discovering surrounding, suburbs, and historical city center to catch as much impacts as was possible.

During the Kosice Visegrad residency in first evening in the Tabačka Kulturfabrik placement artists presented theirs previous projects, inspirations and ideas. They also dedicated special part of talk to explanation about the vision of the common project Hopes and Memories. The discussion with audience after the talk was stimulating part and a crucial key to the upcoming artistic creation. Morning and daytime sessions were devoted to sharing different artistic admittances and progress in survey. After two days of creative session, visual team was able to present a public work in progress called Nomadsland.

With the help of locals, visual team discovered important informations about Kosice history as well as major leading figures from Kosice domestic art scene. Kosice environs was great material for researching. For example Alžbetina street is a pedestrian zone leading to the main street, where there is also a statue of Julius Jakoby immortalized in bronze signif by the famous sculptor Juraj Bartus. And he seemed to be exactly that person of Kosice, who we could take over as the visual icon of the city. Always hunched weirdo, passing through the city. Joining also the local graffiti scene, we followed iconic texts that accompany the Kosice inhabitants every day to work and almost in every street. This sentences were something as a open speech of the frank nowadays young society. All these sources were great inspiration for the resulting beamvertising. All the symbols, characters and metaphors were transposed to the hefty visualization.

The public event was held in the streets over three hours, and these moving images were reflection of our found property. Action called NomadsLand brought and kept strong and vibrant output, which will be useful for next residencies and also as a visual material for the final project.
